Note the “S” prefix in the VIN, the wire wheels, and the dual exhaust, which signifies that this XK120 is a SE or special equipment model. This also means that this model is fitted with the racing C-type head found on the XK140, hence the original replica record plaque on the dash! This XK120 is not a concourse classic, but rather an extraordinary, show quality driver. Also, this Jaguar is a complete numbers matching classic, which is rare for a vehicle of its age! Paint & Body: The paint and body are great! The body is solid with no dings, dents, or rust, which is to be expected with a vehicle of this caliber. The paint has an amazing mirror like finish, with no noticeable blemishes. This Jaguar XK120 is truly a show quality driver! However, there is a slight paint chip on the inside of the bonnet, which can be addressed which touch-up paint. Mechanics: The all original, numbers matching drive-train functions as it should. The oil pressure is superb, the operating temperature is consistent, and the transmission shifts smoothly. The brakes function properly and the suspension is ideal. Thus, this XK120 performs as it should and is a very reliable classic Jaguar. However, there is a small shimmy in the in the passenger side suspension, only when you hit a pot hole or a bump in the road. It is possible that the lower ball joint needs to be replaced or just the lower “A” arm bushing. Interior: The interior is in great condition and the leather is very supple. The interior shows a great patina, which is to be expected from a vehicle in such good care. All of the gauges and fixtures function as they should. However, the windshield wiper functions intermittently, and has not been addressed due to the fact that the vehicle does not get driven in the rain. Shipping & Payment: A non-refundable deposit of a $2000 through pay pal is required immediately after the close of the auction. The remainder of the balance is to be paid via wire transfer or cash within 7 days. If these terms are not met, the vehicle will be sold to the next qualified buyer.
