Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1974 Dodge W200 Power Wagon Club Cab with 8 ft bed. WINTER IS APPROACHING AND THIS TRUCK IS READY TO GO!! JUST HOP IN, TURN THE KEY AND GO!!! THIS TRUCK WOULD MAKE THE PERFECT PLOUGH TRUCK!!! THIS IS ONE VERY TOUGH TRUCK AND IS READY TO OVERCOME AND CONQUER ANY CHALLEGE YOU CAN PUT BEFORE IT!!! During the 70’s the Dodge W200 Power Wagon was the choice of the military due to its rugged resilient design. In the field and rough terrain the Dodge Power Wagon outperformed its competitors hands down and this truck is no exception!! It has been fitted with much of the same bullet proof drivetrain components as the military used and the best part is that the entire drivetrain in this truck has been rebuilt and/or replaced within the last few years. I am selling this truck for my Brother In-Law that has been challenged with some untimely health issues which has stalled the completion of the restoration of this awesome and highly respected vintage 4x4. The odometer shows the mileage to be 40,341 but it is likely that the mileage is actually 140,341. The 318 engine was the first to be replaced with a Remanufactured 318 TDK crate engine and has about 25k miles since it was installed. The engine was fitted with an Edelbrock Performer 4bbl intake and a brand new Holley 650 cfm spreadbore carburetor. When installed the Holley was modified by removing the rear metering plate that was standard on this carb and in its place a metering block was installed so the secondary jetting could be altered as needed. Also a brand new aluminum timing cover and water pump was installed. The engine was topped off with a Mopar Engine Dress-up kit which includes finned aluminum valve covers and a matching finned aluminum air cleaner. All attached accessories have been rebuilt or replaced to include the alternator and all belts and hoses. A Vintage-Air A/C system was added to provide some cooling relief on those hot steamy summer days and it blows ICE COLD!!! The power brake booster was just replaced as well as the master cylinder. The heavy duty radiator and heater core are both brand new and THE HEATER WILL BAKE YOU OUT. The 727 Torque Flite automatic transmission is the most recent drivetrain component to be rebuilt. This was done about a year and a half ago and has only about 2k miles on it since it was done. A new torque converter and a B&M shift kit were added at that time so it now has a much more firm shift than it did from the factory. Both front and rear drive shafts were rebuilt with new u-joints and rebalanced. The rear differential is a Dana 60 with 4.10 gears and has been rebuilt as well. The original front differential and housing was replaced with an all new upgraded military spec Dana 60 with 4.10 gears and lockout hubs as seen in the pictures. The New Process 203 transfer case was also rebuilt. The front disc and rear drum brake components have all been replaced and or refurbished. All fuel and brake lines have also been replaced and the entire stainless steel exhaust system is brand new. The wheels were also replace a few years ago with these heavy duty custom black powder coated steel wheels and are wrapped in Michelin 265/75/16 tires. The cab and front clip have been gone over and any areas of rust were either cut out and replaced with metal or the body panels were replaced entirely. As you can see in the pictures there are no rust issues from the cab forward, the bottom of this truck is clean and the frame is very solid. The interior has been mostly redone several years ago. The exception to that is the bench seat which was just re-upholstered about a year ago in a two-tone tan and black combo that is a nice compliment to the dark green interior. The dashtop is in decent shape and has no cracks but the glove box door does show the typical sun damage and cracking of the vinyl. The metal dash was modified to accommodate the Vintage-Air A/C ducts and actually looks very close to a factory A/C installation. The gauge cluster is very clean and all gauges are working properly. A Kenwood stereo CD player has been installed and sounds great through the door mounted 6x9 speakers. The floors are solid and have been covered with dyna-mat sound deadener, then a layer of jute padding and then a new rubber mat instead of carpeting to simplify cleanup after a hard days work. All new door seals were also installed. This truck now offers a ride that is nearly as quiet and comfortable as any new truck. The primary interior color is dark green as was the entire truck at one time, and the two-tone tan and black seat offer a more cheerful, complimenting and updated appearance. A Knack locking stainless diamond plate tool box was installed behind the bench seat and offers an additional seating surface if desired. The two original folding jump seats that were factory mounted on the side walls behind the bench seat have been removed and are included in the sale. Due to the typical rust problems that many vehicles of this vintage had the original 8 ft bed was replaced with an early 80’s 8 ft bed as seen in the pictures. This bed has a solid bed floor but does have some rust issues of its own. The tailgate does open and close as it should. The bed of this truck is the last item on the list to be redone. Bedside patch panels were purchased to repair the rust around the rear wheel wells but they have yet to be installed. The patch panels will go with the truck for the next proud owner to install. As seen in the pictures there are three Knack Weatherguard stainless steel diamond plate locking tool boxes mounted in the bed that are in very nice condition. All tool boxes open, close seal and lock as they should and are ready for use. The toolboxes alone cost over $1,500.00 when purchased new. This truck has been a work in progress and up until just over a year ago it was a daily driven work truck. It has been meticulously maintained to insure its reliability as it has been the primary truck that my brother in-law ran his business with for the last 7 years. He could not afford to be without it so he rebuilt it a section at a time. All of the major subsystems of this truck have been rebuilt, replaced or refurbished and it has been and continues to be a very reliable vehicle. My brother in-law has had a very lengthy career as an auto mechanic and a heavy truck fleet specialist so all of the refurbishing was done by him and only the best parts that money could buy were used as reliability was his primary focus. Thousands of dollars and many countless hours of labor have gone into rebuilding and maintaining this truck and now that most of the work has been done it can be yours for just a fraction of what was spent. It passed Virginia State Safety Inspection, is good until June of 2012 and is ready for several more years of reliable service for the winning bidder. I am a fairly particular person when it comes to attention to detail and I myself have over 30 years experience in automotive restoration and maintenance. Based on my personal and educated inspection and in speaking with my Brother In-Law I feel confident that there are no known issues or concerns and I would not hesitate to drive it, just the way you see it, across the country and back. All personal inspections are welcome. Please feel free to contact me via Ebay’s Ask a Question feature to arrange a personal inspection. The car is actually located in Nokesville VA and arrangements can be made to accommodate any inspection requests. If a personal inspection is desired please do not delay in requesting this as there will be no more inspections granted after 6pm EDT on the last day of the auction. As of last year Dodge no longer makes pickup trucks and there are fewer and fewer of the W200 model still in service today so there is a growing interest in the restoration arena. What used to be a Dodge truck is now being sold under the Ram brand name. The Power Wagon’s are getting harder to find so DON’T MISS OUT ON THIS OPPORTUNITY TO OWN THIS UNIQUE VINTAGE 4X4 DODGE POWER WAGON FOR JUST PENNIES ON THE DOLLAR!!! The parts put into this truck alone cost MORE THAN TWICE the BUY IT NOW Price!! DISCLAIMER: This vehicle is being sold AS IS and Where is with NO Warranties or Guarantee’s Implied.
