This is a great project. Super solid car that runs and drives with a fresh 1970 455 engine and Muncie 4 speed. Original dark blue code E-1. Body: Floors & Trunk: You won't find many convertibles this solid as they usually rust out in the rockers, trunk and under the rear seat. This makes the car sag and it will take thousands of dollars to fix. This car does have some rust but the majority of the hard "convertible" areas are solid. The trunk is perfect, under the rear seat is perfect, frame rails are perfect, rocker panels are perfect, floor braces are perfect. The front and rear floor pans were cut out only in the areas where your feet go. Full left and right patches were installed and welded to the original floor braces. This left the structural integrity of the car in tact. Body: The quarters need to be replaced and new quarter skins are just sitting on the car. Also need outer wheel wells. The doors are very solid with just a little rust in the lower corner. The front fenders only have a little rust down low. They do have a few big dings. The hood is good. Both the front valance and the rear tail pan have a few dents/repairs. Convertible Top: The car needs a new top as the old one was ripped up and removed. The frame and bows are all in good condition. Manual top. Interior: The interior is in very nice restorable condition. Original rear seat and door panels. Front buckets are out of a 68 camaro and will recover. Console is a correct Firebird console in good shape. Glass & Chrome: Both bumpers are in very nice shape. All of the convertible trim is there except a few pieces of front window trim and some of the rear boot trim pieces. All of the glass is in good condition with the exception of the front windsheild which needs replaced. Drivetrain: Engine is a 1970 455 rated at 360 hp. Engine has been rebuilt and balanced at a cost of over $3000. with .30 over TRW pistons, .465/.488 lift cam with 282/292 duration, rebuilt #15 heads, edelbrock dual plane intake, holley 750 carb, new distributor, water pump, fuel pump, etc. etc. Engine runs and drives great and has less than 500 miles on it. Also has a new aluminum radiator. Have most of the receipts from the engine build. Transmission is the original M-20 Muncie 4 speed with a hurst shifter. Has new flywheel and clutch set-up. Rear end is original 10 bolt rear end. Tires and wheels are original 14" factory 5 spoke ralley wheels with old tires. Exhaust has new headers and 2 1/4" dual exhaust installed about 3 or 4 years ago. Front end is original and a little sloppy. Needs rebuilt. Overall this is a great project. You will have a hard time finding a better foundation to start with. Still needs a lot but what is there is very good. Have over $8,500 invested. Buyer pays $500 deposit within 48 hours.
