1971 Triumph Bonneville I am delighted to offer this beautiful red numbers matching 1971 650 Bonneville. It was purchased by the previous owner from a local motorcycle dealer in 1997, who had just rebuilt the engine from the sludge traps up, to excellent rider specification. Having put just over 1,000 miles on it over the course of the next three years, it was then retired to dry, covered storage. It was then re-commissioned and detailed in preparation for sale. It is now offered in good running condition. The engine is so tight that it started on 4th kick after sitting several years. It does not leak any oil, and the brakes are very good – testament to the quality of the build. The amal carbs are in excellent shape - idles and runs great. The engine is solid without any extraneous internal sounds. The straight pipes with baffles fitted make the already great Triumph sound even better. The inside of the tank is like new, the speedometer and tack work as designed. Chrome and paint are excellent, finish on frame and all cycle parts is very good with scratches on the frame where the keys touch being the only real blemish. It was obviously built for that street tracker look, but needed finishing with a seat unit and cut tail, but it’s so comfortable as is, I didn’t bother. This is a great mile-crunching bike with a big original tank and upright stance, ideal for touring or hacking around country lanes or though the city alike.
