1999.5 VW Jetta GLS TDI, 5 speed, greasecar, no reserve priced to sell 99.5 VW Jetta diesel powered by both diesel fuel and recycled vegetable oil. Just past PA state inspection and is good until October 2012. It has been an extremely reliable car for me and still runs good despite the high miles. Professionals swear about the reliability of these cars say they run forever(or at least 400k). I always changed the oil and did regular maintenance on it. It does have 267000 miles on it and is 12 years old so there are a few minor issues. The car as you can see from pictures has a little body damage, and has steel wheels on passenger side but I do have the aluminum rims and will be given to buyer. Has a 6 disc cd changer in trunk that works great. The heat is hot and A/C is ice cold. The interior is in good condition considering its age; there is couple of burn wholes in seats and broken ashtray and arm rest top, cup holder cover missing, but nothing that keeps it from looking good. The hood release handle broke and had to take it out to get the hood open. The windshield is cracked and the driver door does not lock. The engine is strong and reliable and transmission shifts great. I had the timing belt done at 215000 and injection pump at 260000 clutch, axels, wheel bearings, front pads, rear pads and rotors and a new battery. However the check engine light comes on and goes out and sometimes gets thrown into limp mode. I had my mechanic plug it in and he said it's probably a vacuum leak and that when the key cycles it resets computer and after a certain amount of times the light will go out. That’s why it goes on and off. He also said it will need balls joints soon. The car has a greaesecar.com conversion professionally installed by smarterfuel.com and I only ever ran professionally processed oil from smarter fuel. You start the car on diesel warm it up for a few miles, and then switch to vegetable oil, before you turn the car off when you are a mile from destination you press a button and the car switches back to diesel and flushes out all vegetable oil in lines. You can also just run the car on diesel fuel. I got the kit with the copilot and was over $2400 with install. Look at their sites to learn more about vegetable oil fuel. After I had the injection pump put in I never ran vegetable oil in it again so I wouldn’t void 5,000 mile warrantee on new pump. This car is not in perfect condition and is priced extremly fair because of that. Anyone who knows about these cars knows it is hard to find one for less than $5,000 This is my baby I don’t want to sell it but need the money and I am losing my license so I am not in need of a car.
