Up for auction is a 2 owner, 1965 MERCEDES 230SL PAGODA ROADSTER CABRIOLET with MATCHING NUMBERS (vin & engine), & a clean & clear title. This is a SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA car since atleast 1976, when it was bought by its second owner. From the information that I've been supplied, this car has spent the entirety of its life in CA, hence its RUSTFREE status. With the exception of minimal rust below the rear license plate mounting area (see second to last picture in the body of this description) & in the rear wheelwheels, all the regular telltale signs of rust are nowhere to be found on this vehicle! There is bubbling in the paint (last picture in the body of this description) atop the left outer fender, however, that area will be part of the restoration. The car is fully stock, and 100% ORIGINAL!! The engine, while 100% original to this car, is in pieces. It is COMPLETE, with the headers having been restored in the last 10 years. It has an AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, & comes with fuel injection. PAGODA HARDTOP ONLY, NO SOFT TOP FRAME INCLUDED IN THIS SALE. The interior is 100% COMPLETE, & easily restorable. The seats have only ONE tear in them! The TAN leather can be restored to its original shape, all the interior as well as exterior hardware is intact. All GLASS, HEAD & TAIL LIGHTS, ALL CHROME is 100% COMPLETE, & ready to be refinished for restoration. Body wise, this car is SOLID, however, the mechanical is going to need some work.
