Up for auction is a 1960 Ford Thunderbird convertible nearly finished project. The car has had the following finished: Newly rebuilt 390 engine with a 100K mile warranty and less than one test mile. Engine runs beautifully. New paint, it is a coffee color that looks black at first glance. Car was stripped to bare metal and refinished. The seats were recovered before I purchased the car and look decent, and the dash is new. All new wiring harnesses with the exception of the power windows (because they don't reproduce them). After I bought the car I had it shipped to the Thunderbird Ranch in WI and had the top mechanism converted to the solid state version. All cylinders, hoses, and the top motor were replaced with brand new parts and it works beautifully. They also replaced the engine and retain the original 352 if you would want it. I was building this car to be a very nice, driver-quality car. It was meant to be enjoyed, so, with that said, it is not perfect but certainly nothing to sneeze at either. NEW: Dash, body, engine and headlamp wire harnesses Disc brakes and all new brake lines, hoses, etc. Works beautifully. 15" wheels which were powder coated black Ram cylinder, lines and power steering hoses Bushings, ball joints, shocks Coker Classic tires Fuel tank, pump, and lines Water pump Rebuilt distributor PowerGen alternator (an alternator that looks like a stock generator) NOS speedometer with "0" miles showing. Recored radiator New headlamp switch, dash bezels, lighter, ignition switch, etc. Had original radio converted to AM-FM with iPod and XM capabilities. New speaker installed. NEEDS: Transmission rebuilt or replaced. If I keep it I will install a later model C-6. Have brand new black top and all weather stripping but this will need to be installed. New windshield and door glass. Has H pipe installed but will need exhaust finished with mufflers and two pipes. Rear shocks installed. Doesen't need leaf springs, but I have a new set that will go with car. Antenna - someone broke off the new one I put on it. Have new tie rod ends, and idler arm bushings, but will need to be installed. Weather stripping is there but will need to finish installing it. Bolt down the front seats and install the skirts that go under the dash. Install door panels. Although this car is so damn close to being finished, I am selling it because I am burned out on it. I have spent over 35K including the purchase price, and I know I am about to lose a lot of money. With that said, I would like to entertain interesting, turn-key driving cars on trade. Maybe a '65 to '67 Mustang convertible or a late model vehicle that draws my interest. Please contact me with any questions you might have, and good luck with your bidding.
