This car is a 1985 BMW 318i with a 5 speed manual transmission and has approximately 190k miles. The car runs very strong and the suspension is very smooth. It was painted Le Mans blue, which is an OEM BMW color from 2003-up. It also has a tan leathette interior. The engine, drivetrain, suspension and brakes are stock, well maintained and have not been modified in any way. The body has been modified with upgraded plastic M-tech and Euro bumper conversion with all new paint. I am a BMW enthusiast and have owned many BMW’s. I am currently building a BMW Spec E30 track car, and would like to sell this car to finish that project for spring. Exterior: The body of this car is in very good condition. There is absolutely no rust what so ever. As you can see the car was painted Le Mans blue. The car looks very good and they did a good job of spraying the car however if you get up-close, you can tell that the car was repainted and there are some flaws. Before painting, the car was prepped and all door dings and scratches were removed. The metal diving board front bumper was upgraded to an OEM plastic euro bumper while the back was replaced with a replica M-tech bumper. It looks pretty good but again if you get up close and know what you’re looking for, you can see some fitment issues with the rear bumper. The chrome window trim has been painted black to give it the shadow-line look. The door moldings on the car have been upgraded to the late model black moldings as well. The door jams, trunk and under the hood were not painted during the respray and are still the original gold color. The rear exhaust has been replaced and the tailpipe sits a bit to the left of the opening for the new M-tech bumper. Because of the heat from the exhaust, about 1 square inch of the paint has chipped off. You can also see some chipping on the drivers side rear door, just below the molding. For some reason the front windshield crowl was never sprayed when being repainted and is still gold. If you look at the pictures you will see. There is also a crack in the Euro front bumper as well that you can see in the pictures. All in all, as you can see, the car looks very good but again, it is not perfect and there are some flaws. This car has never been in an accident and has all original body panels. Interior: The interior of this car is in very good condition and there are no tears or rips in any of the door panels or seats. There are some parts of the seats that are a bit dirtier than others from basic wear and tear of a 25 year old car but if you were to really spend some time cleaning, I’m sure you could get the dirt out. The front door panels are a bit loose on the bottoms but aren’t really noticeable. The clips are there and are not broken but don’t hold to well. I just replaced the shift boot and put a new M shift knob on the linkage. The carpet is in good condition as well and has no rips. Again, the car is 25 years old and does have some small stains here and there from basic wear. It has black floor mats. The Interior is completely stock except that it has a upgraded headunit with an aux input. There is a 1/8 inch aux jack that runs into the glove box to plug in your ipod, phone or other music playing device. The speakers have been replaced as well and sound good. The driver’s side door does not lock. The sunroof works perfect however the lever is hanging and wont stay up in the locked position. The rear windows do not work. I have replaced the window switches and believe the regulators need to be replaced. The under dash panel on drivers side is missing as well. The left blinker works intermittently. I believe It needs a new blinker relay. The blower motor for AC and heating does not work. Suspension, and Brakes: The car drives very smooth. The brakes have been replaced recently and have plenty of pad life left on them and rotors are good. The front control arms, tie rods and rear shock mounts were replaced in the last 5 months and there are absolutely no clunks at all when driving or hitting a bump. The shocks have also been replaced in the last couple of years. Drivetrain: The car idles very smooth and runs great. The oil was just changed with Mobil 1 synthetic and cooling system flushed. Distributor cap and rotor, along with spark plugs and wires were replaced in the last 2000 miles. Belts were also changed then as well with the air filter as well. There is a brand new battery in the car that was replaced earlier today(not shown in the pictures). The clutch is strong and the transmission shifts very smooth. Like pretty much all E30’s, the shift linkage is a bit loose. Wheels and Tires: There are 15” wheels with Kumho tires. The Kumho’s have about 80% tread left on them and are in good condition as far as tire wear. Im not sure what wheels are on the car as they were on when I bought the car. This is a great running car and would be perfect for any enthusiast looking to add to their collection. . There has been a lot of time and money invested in this car with maintenance and upgrades.
