Vehicle Detail
A little rough around the edges and no longer a "luxury" SUV, this great vehicle is an ideal Winter car, my primary use, or faithful tradesman's workhorse. I have given it the best of maintenance since buying it in May of 2005. It has accumulated only 20,000 miles under my stewardship and has had the oil changed every three thousand miles. Major repairs done by me: New muffler and tailpipe at 85783mi, August 2011 Power steering cooler at 83296mi, February 2010 Cruise control safety recall performed at 82813mi, November 2009 Brake lines at 82722mi, October 2009 ABS service w/new front hubs at 81678, December 2008 Full front and rear brake job w/new rotors, pads, shoes, etc. at 81547, August 2008 New battery at 79,436mi, July 2007 Differential and transfer case service at 79,151mi, May 2007 New windshield wiper motor, upper and lower front ball joints and four wheel alignment at 69,857mi, October 2005 Transmission, differential, transfer case service at 67,500mi, June 2005 Other minor repairs were done along the way. The A/C has been an issue since new on this vehicle but will operate through the warm months with an inexpensive refrigerant refill. This is an upgraded model within the XLT line and has a working power moon roof, running boards and a working console-mounted six-disc CD player in addition to the normal XLT features-power seat, windows and locks, AM/FM radio, power outside mirrors, dual opening tailgate, etc. The body and main paint is very good over-all with but a few of the usual dings. Glass is all excellent. The interior is very good but in need of a little TLC to be excellent. The tires have lots of life left with an aggressive knobby all-weather tread and are very good in the snow. This is one of the last Explorers capable of carrying 4X8 sheet goods laid flat. I will provide my custom-made inside rack(from my old '92 Explorer) for this purpose if the buyer so desires. PLEASE NOTE: 1. The reported accident was a very minor rear-end that required a new bumper and a little paint-work. and was repaired by my regular, professional body shop. 2. Due to relatively low miles and over-all great condition of this vehicle my asking price is firm. If you have a look at the other late-'90s Explorers currently in eBay, you will see this represents a very good value for this vehicle. 3. The only reason I am giving up this great vehicle is my needs have changed and I can no longer justify keeping it licensed and insured for the very limited use I now give it. PLEASE GIVE YOUR PHONE NUMBER VIA EBAY MESSAGE AND I WILL REPLY. DEPOSIT OF $500.00 via PayPal is required to hold the deal, with balance due upon delivery. LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY
