Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1968 Dodge Dart GT with 3106 original miles. This car has been a drag car its whole life and was in the same family from 1978-2011. I purchased the car from them out of their father's estate. He passed away five years ago and the car has been in storage since then. I have replaced the fuel lines, fuel pump, rebuilt the carburator, replaced the battery, spark plugs, and rebuilt the brakes since I purchase it. All items that needed attention from the car sitting dormant for five years. It is originally a Dart GT that came with a 273. It now has a built 340 Chrysler small block with a Holley 750 cfm double pumper, Edelbrock Torker intake, Crane 294/304 .560/.580 cam, Crane roller rockers, Speed Pro 2332p pistons, Speed Pro CB481 rods, MSD ignition and rev limiter. Engine was built by Hawkins Speed Shop in Richmond Indiana in 1984 and was rebuilt along with tranny in 2001. Car has a 727 transmission with a reverse manual valve body and stall speed that is feed by a B & M pro ratchet shifter. It is also equipped with line-loc and a 8 3/4" rearend with 4.56 gears on a spool. It is a drag car so to put it on the street it would need exhaust and street tires on the back(currently has slicks on it). Body is very solid aside from a pin hole rusted out behind the roof pillar and a few minor spots in the floor boards. It has a roll cage and only the drivers seat in the interior. Previous owner added fender flairs on the rear quarter panels to allow the bigger tires on the back. It has a GTS hood with a hemi scoop fiberglassed to it. It is starting to crack around the scoop and will need some attention. The only other problem with the car is a small transmission leak. It appears to me that it just needs a new transmission gasket. It is very solid and runs great. Car was bracket raced every weekend and was running high 11's to low 12's when last run. I have the car listed locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early at anytime. Buyer is responsible for a $200.00 non refundable deposit thru paypal due within 24 hours of purchase. I am listing this with a very low reserve. Buyer is also responsible for arranging pickup within 5 days of purchase. Happy bidding!!!On Oct-14-11 at 16:10:01 PDT, seller added the following information: Car is in good working order and can be driven onto a trailer of any automotive transporter of your choice.
