1978 Toyota Landcruiser 35,700 Original Miles First Time offered for Sale. Was relisted after a few hours due to saying "cash" on method of payment, versus "cash in person" on method of payment. Obviously if you do pay cash, only pay in person obviously!No Reserve. 6 Cylinder - Gas ; 4 Speed, 4WD. Acquired from Private Owner in North Central Nebraska/South Dakota area, a retiree who purchased it from his father in 1990 (his father lived in Colorado). The father had purchased it in 1979 with only 6,000 miles. I have the documentation to show this. The miles are 100% original and verfied by the owner and owners father. They just didn't use it often. You will see in person that indeed it is original. It has rarely been used by both previous owners and the truck shows this as well. It has never been off-roaded, other than to go fishing. Again, I have been doing this for over 20 years, and I am 100% certain these are original and have no reason to believe they are not. They did not keep a log of gas fill ups etc, so I do not have this. Runs 100% excellent and as it should for a 35,000 mile truck. It drives and shifts very tight as it should for a 35,000 mile truck. Tires are 99% new, with only a few hundred miles on them. They were put on last year. Spare tire is also brand new under the cover. No known mechanical issues. No leaks, no smoke, etc. It is very very good. Even after 500 miles on oil change it is still very clean oil. I drove the truck home 4 hours away. Body is excellent for year as is the frame. As a matter of fact I have never seen one nicer in it's original condition. For no reason except to darken the original sky blue color a little, the owners father had the truck repainted in 1982. Unbelievably the paint has held up over time. His son has no idea why he ever did repaint it, especially at what he thought was Earl Scheib (lol). The metal rack on the passenger side is for a spare gas can. The only modification to the truck that I am aware of is that the owner put manual hubs on the front. It is believed and shared with me that the truck has never been in any kind of accident and that every panel is 100% original. Looking over the vehicle closely, this certainly looks to be the case. The truck is detailed as you can see, but NO TOUCH UP PAINT was used, not even underneath... None! What you see is what is there (just shined up). NO BONDO anywhere. Rust is mainly on top of fenders by blinker lights, and under rear doors in back. A little here and there as well. It is an unrestored 1978, excellent for the year, but far from perfect. Please keep expectations realistic (see terms and conditions). Excellent sounding CD player installed (remote included) Very tastefully done. Interior is in excellent condition. The original dashboard is in MINT condition and is included. They had put this aftermarket one on because it held things like a cell phone better. Gun rack-fishing rack included on the rollbar in the back. The top of the truck does have hail dings from a long time ago. You can see them from a few feet away, but not much further. They were hard to capture in the pics.... so they are big enough to see in person up close, but not on camera. That should explain it! It is a given that every vehicle I sell will have some rust (either surface rust or otherwise on frame, body, or somewhere because even West Coast cars have rust too), scratches, dents, dings, smells, stains, etc that you get with any used car. It is a used car, so expect wear and tear on the car in all of these areas. Read the description and look at the pics, but remember, they don't capture every detail. 3. You understand that at time of pickup, there will not be a "test drive" period before payment or final payment. You may verify the vehicle and the VIN and the title to ensure it is the vehicle you purchased. Any "inspections" must take place before you win the vehicle, not after. 4. All are welcome to test drive, inspect, and look at the vehicle, and ask questions via email or phone call before you bid on the vehicle. 5. The sellers responsibility begins and ends with providing the vehicle shown and displayed in the auction with a legal and clear title for the vehicle. 6. The description is simply based on the opinion of the seller, and once again, all bids must be placed based on the bidders opinion of the vehicle. 7. The definition of "hold harmless" is in effect on all of my auctions. By bidding you forfeit any rights to legal action or threats of any sort. I will not deal and I refuse to deal with people who sue (I never have sued, or ever threatened to sue and have never been sued). Again, by bidding and/or winning this auction you understand that there is NO legal recourse available to you for any reason on this auction, other than the promise that I make in providing the make and model car with VIN (and clear and legal title) advertised in this auction. 8. Shipping is the buyers responsibility. Vehicle to be picked up within 2 weeks, but exceptions can be made. Just call me to let me know what is going on. We will do our best to work with your shipper. I also may be able to pick you up at the airport. Sioux City is very easy and Omaha is a more difficult. Either way, this is a case by case basis. Please call. 9. $500 Non-Refundable Deposit Due within 24 hours via Paypal or cash in person. Full amount of vehicle due within 7 days of auction end, or at vehicle pickup, whichever comes first. I will accept a cashiers check, money order, or cash in person for the balance. No exceptions unless approved before you bid. Please call. 10. $119 Doc/Delivery/Prep fee on Every Sale. On most vehicles, we spend an average of 4-8 hours on it either cleaning/detailing, and or appraising the car for the description. In addition, after the sale but before you get it, we spend a lot of time working with your shipper to ensure a smooth delivery. You are responsible for the tax title license and any fees your state requires. 11. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time, to sell to anyone, for any reason. I love this business and have always understood what makes a good car from a bad one, and literally look at between 1500-2000 cars per week in trying to find one's that are great buys, and still have good qualities. Most of them I buy based on the owner, not the car. If the owner is careless or if they are not nice to deal with, I almost always pass. If they are friendly and seemed to have cared for the car, I'll buy it. By buying cars based on people- and not just the vehicle itself, I have honestly had tremendous success by avoiding major repairs, surprises, etc. Also- regardless of flaws, if a car has a good engine and transmission, they are usually good buys also. I tend to find cars that are excellent at the core, as I am not the type of dealer who buys them half running and poorly mechanical, patching it up to sell. On Oct-10-11 at 13:37:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Quick friendly reminder to read the description well before bidding because I want the winner to be happy/satisfied with the purchase. For example this does have noticeable hail dents on top of the panels (hard to capture in pics because they are not huge but you'll see them in person) and that is in the description. They're not severe by any means, but they are there and with the right light on them more visable than just a few feet. Also, I can see a small drip on the ground near the rear of the engine area- not a lot but a very slow drip.
