1931 MODEL A COUPE...RUMBLES SEAT...RUNS GREAT NEW WIDE WHITE WALL TIRES+++GLEAMING CHROME....CLEAR GLASS FROM GEORGIA the land of peanuts, peacans and peachs PLEASE! PLEASE! PLEASE! I know the following advice kills a few sells, but it needs to be said. Ask questions, do your reserch, COME AND INSPECT THE CAR and take time and think it over berfore you buy. Its hard to list every little detail about the car. Pictures usually make cars look better than they are in real life, "most look like perfect show cars in pictures". I encourage you to come inspect and be happy with the car before buying. Remember that classic cars have no warranty! I will list lots of information, but its the way I see it as a 65 year old mechanic. I'm the seller, your standards might be different than mine. I'm just stating all this up front because I like to have happy buyers. Its easy to see a perfect show car in the pictures and in the real world the car just be a nice driver. Your not going to buy a perfect show car for a bargain price. I will try to give you a detailed decription of the car below, please read and take it to heart! All this is true on my cars and everybody elses car that you look at on the internet! Thank You, Ron Watson VIN A4710895 MILEAGE 62514 showing, it is undocumented. HISTORY: I bought this car from a older man that lived near Atlanta, Georgia. He loved the car, but had health problems and had a hard time driving it. Nothing is power assisted on the car it takes strenght to turn the wheel and apply the brakes. He was just old and too weak to drive a Model A and have fun. TITLE: Clear Georgia registration of title in hand, title number 991494082918035. IS THERE ANY RUST PROBLEMS? No real rust problems, no rusty holes and the underside has no rust issues in the frame or floors. IS THERE ANY ACCIDENT DAMAGE? None that I can find. WHY AM I SELLING THIS CAR? I’m a classic car restorer, but when I find a vehicle I like and can sell for a fair market price, I buy it fix a few things and resell. PAINT: The paint is nice, but its just drive and enjoy quality, it looks good, but is not a perfect $20,000 paint job. By drive and enjoy quality I mean it looks good, its shines good, but under a critical eye inspection you will find some touched up chips and very minor defects. "Pictures make it look perfect and it looks great if your not buying", if you were here inspecting with a critical eye you will see some minor defects. The paint does have a brillant shine, no rust bubbles. It satisfies me, but its just not perfect, if you look for a little defect you can find it. CHROME: All the chrome and bright work is very good, no dulling and no pitting. The only pitting and dulling I see is the tail light extenions, they have some pits and dulling at the back where they mount. INTEROR: Interior is nice everywhere you look, it has no smoke smell, it is a little loose, I see some minor wrinkles in the seat cover and its soft where you set, but its very decent upholstery. UNSERSIDE: No rust problems and its clean, not detailed and painted shinny, but good. GLASS: Clear with no milkey spots and no cracks, the side windows roll up and down good, if I look with a critical eye I can see a coupel of super faint marks on the windshield. TOP and running boards: The rubber on the top and runnning boards is in very nice condition. SOUND SYSTEM: Roll the window down and hear the engine purr. AIR CONDITIONING: Roll the windshield out. ENGINE: It’s a 4 cylinder flathead that runs strong for what it is. It is about as dry as you find, it has no blue smoke and no unwanted rattles. EXHAUST SYSTEM: Good used condition. TRANSMISSION: 3 speed manual that shifts as it should, these did not have a synchronized gears. REAR-END: Original and is in good condition with no whines or growls. BRAKES: Mechanical brakes, “no juice, no hydraulics”. Past owner just had a new brake job done and I think they stop good. STEERING: You have to apply pressure to steer the car. WHEELS AND TIRES : The tires are new condition with 99% of the tread wear left, they are wide white side-wall tires mounted on later model 16 inch V8 rims. Guys put the V8 16 inch wheels on because it gives a good riding height, they usually ride smoother and they just look cool. LIGHTS and wiring: They all work and the wiring is good! The generator has been replaced with a 12 volt alternator, this is a good thing. The interior light on the dash works. HORN WORKs! amp gauge works, ! THE GAS GAUGE WORKS! HOW FAST WILL THE CAR GO! It will go faster, but a good cursing speed is about 40 mph. . GUAGES: Amp gauge works, fuel gauge works. HOW DO THE DOORS AND HOOD OPEN AND CLOSE? I think they open and close good! Model A Ford doors are made to hang over in the back edge , this is the way they came from the factory. WILL THIS CAR DRIVE HOME? I think it would drive to anywhere you want to, but I highly do not recommend it. I have drivin the car locally and it does good, but I have not taken a long trip in it. DEFECTS AND PROBLEMS: These are just what I remember off the top of my head! 1. Just driver quality paint, but good.. 2. Speedometer is not working, I'll try to get it fixed, past owner said he put a new cable in and he thinks the gear retaining method has let if slipe back. 3. Probally something else I missed. TRADES: Please no trades, they never work out and are just too hard! The rest of the information is boring unless you are really interested in buying the vehicle, its just buying details like shipping, paperwork, who I am, where the car is located and how to pay and contact information. CONTACT INFO: my cell telephone number is 423-506-8987, I do not answer when driving, while meeting with people, after about 8:00 PM Eastern Time or on Sunday morning or Sunday nights. Please leave a voice mail and I’ll get back. I do check my emails several times a day. cell 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com WILL I SELL OR SHOW THE CAR ON SUNDAY: Usually not, this is my day off, a day to worship and a day for the family. PAPERWORK: I know what to do! We are just a father/son 2 man operation, but we are a Tennessee licensed/bonded car dealer and have sold cars all over the US and exported many. THIS IS NOT AN AUCTION, THIS IS A FIXED PRICE LISTING: I reserve the right to stop the listing at any time and sale the car “come look”. I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO STOP THE LISTING AT ANY TIME. THE CAR IS FOR SALE ON THE LOCAL MARKET. WHERE THE CAR IS LOCATED: The car is here at my garage in Athens, Tennessee. Athens is in east Tennessee, we are 50 miles south of Knoxville and 50 miles north of Chattanooga. Look at a Road Atlas and follow interstate 75 south from Knoxville. I live one mile and one turn from the interstate exit. My zip code is 37303. The closest large airport is Knoxville. Athens does have a good small airport, but has no commercial flights. WHO YOU ARE BUYING FROM: My name is Ron Watson and I live in the small town of Athens, Tennessee “Athens is called the friendly city”. We are located in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in east Tennessee “I am truly qualified to be called a Hill Billy”. I am 65 years old and work with my son Keith who is now 39. I am now retired and living my dream restoring, selling and improving classic cars. For 12 years I was an auto mechanics instructor at Tennessee Technology Center here in Athens. I am also a veteran of the US Army; I served as a Chinook helicopter mechanic, crew chief and instructor in the late 60s, I did spend a year in Vietnam. I’m Southern Baptist faith and proud to be an American. I’ve been married to the same good woman for almost 42 years. LIFE IS GOOD IN THE GREEN HILLS OF EAST TENNESSEE! TRANSPORT: EBAY MOTORS gives 3 instant transport quotes if you click on the link on my listing. US OR EXPORT “the best”: Classic Car Transport, LLC: This is a very good company that will handle any type of transport in the US or overseas with the white glove treatment. They are located in Kansas City. Call Bill at 913-749-0930 Email billc@classiccartransport.com MY AREA CODE FOR TRANSPORT: The area code for Athens, Tennessee is 37303. I live 1 mile off a major interstate (I-75) and 35 miles south of interstate 40, so transport is usually very fast. PAYMENT: I require a $250 deposit for a Buy Now or to hold the car. I will take paypal for the deposit, but not for full payment. Option 1: Pay the old school way face to face. Option 2: Pay by check, I will wait till the check clears, I have had a fake bank certified check. Option 3: The safest is to let our banks handle it, my bank is a member of the US Federal Reserve, this is called wire transfer. And its safe for both of us. WILL I HOLD THE CAR UNTIL YOU GET HERE TO LOOK OR HAVE IT INSPECTED? Not without a $250 non-refundable deposit! I have held too many cars that people promise me they are going to buy and they never show up, their wife won’t let them buy it, they can’t get a loan or they just back out. Before you drive or fly a long distance you need to make sure the car is not sold. “The way I look at it is until you pay a deposit you’re just looking and dreaming”. INSPECTIONS: Please come look and be happy. All inspections are required to be done before the end of the listing. I listed this car as I see it as a 64 year old car restorer, please come and judge it for your self. I judge the car to my standards, this may not be yours. Paid inspectors are unpredictable, you might get a good one, but most of them do not impress me at all, most really don’t know what to look at, they make a good car sound bad on the report. They have to be very critical to cover their back sides and all their concerned about is getting paid. I understand how hard it is to buy a car without looking, but I think you should come look yourself. I don’t like paid inspectors, I like for the person that is buying to inspect for themselves. I think its fine to send a friend to inspect for you. To make it clear, don’t hit the buy now button and then inspect, come inspect first! BOTTOM LINE: My price is $16,800 and I am asking $17,800 on the local market. The game is not rocket science, ask a price and come down. It’s not fun to bargain over the cell phone all day long with people that live 2000 miles away and are not going to buy anyway. My firm price is the Buy Now price. I have sold every car I have ever tried to, so I’m not motivated to be bargained down. WILL BE VERY HAPPY TO SELL YOU THE VEHICLE WITH-OUT AN INSPECTION; YOU JUST HAVE TO HAVE A LOT OF NERVE AND PLEASE DON’T BE A CRY BABY. Read the ME section on the upper right hand part of the listing marked seller info. Thank You, Ron Watson cell: 423-506-8987 email: dreamcar@live.com I am very careful about taking payment, I have had a fake certified check, it looked real and the buyer seemed real. I will take one, but I will check you out. I am ebay varified, that means you can buy ebays buyer protection plan and they will guarantee thats I'm real, they will not guarantee the car. IS THERE A WARRANTY? No! Come inspect, judge and drive the vehicle all you want to because I do not offer a warranty on classic vehicles. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type, they are the way I see the vehicle. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected this vehicle and to have satisfied himself or herself as to the condition and value and to purchase based upon that judgment solely.
