I haven’t even tuned it up. It has a new battery, new rear wheel cylinders and a new brake master cylinder. The air condition belts are hooked up, but I don’t know if the AC works or not. One tire is new. The other three are old. I made the brakes work well enough for loading and unloading purposes for transport only. It is originally a California car and has been here it’s entire life. The body is super clean and straight. No rust except behind the rear window panel (rust bubbles). No other rust on the body (surface rust only, no rust holes). No rust holes in the battery tray area. It will need some body work on the driver side rear quarter panel. A tire blew out and caused some minor damage. It also ruined the wheel well trim. The grill and chrome surrounds (moldings) are in great shape. The bumpers are straight and shiny, not perfect, but they look good. All the stainless moldings, i.e., rocker moldings, window moldings, wheel well trim is in good shape. When you open the hood, you can see that the car has never been wrecked, no wrinkles, no damage or repairs. In the interior, the dash pad is warped and cracked (from the sun). The door panels are in great shape. The carpet is stained. The steering wheel is cracked and missing plastic. It needs a headliner. The seat covers are old and dry. The glass is all good. The power windows are not working. It has the optional AM/FM radio and factory dash mounted headlight dimmer. The power seats work. The odometer reads 35,731. Those are not the original miles. Actual miles are unknown. To sum it up this would be a great car to restore, or make it mechanically sound and drive it the way it is. I have the original 1964 Imperial operating instruction book, the passenger car warranty required service record book with the correct VIN number on the front cover (original book for this car). I even have the original AM/FM Chrysler “Facts about Reception” book. I have a clean California title in my name. No fees due. In the glove box are the past registration cards from 1964-1977, including the original 1964 registration and the original Purchaser’s Temporary Operating Copy and Dealer’s Report of Sale paperwork they give you when you leave the dealership.
