Vehicle Detail

1970 Dodge Challenger Convertible History: Originally 318, auto, B5 blue, white interior, manual top, p/s, p/b, a/c. I've known the owner of this car for 25 years. The original 318 is long gone, he replaced it with a Hi-Po '71 340, rebuit 727, 8 3/4 3.91 posi, painted it the car yellow, added frame connectors, weld racing wheels, chetah shifter, Hooker Comp. Headers. I bought the car and pulled the 340 due to water in oil and replaced it with a completely rebuilt 318. Interior: Original white seats in very good shape (would look great if re-dyed) drivers seat has tears and could use replacing, black door panels are good, rear inteior panels could use replacing, carpet is nice (was replaced a few years ago), console is nice no cracks or cuts, has chetah (aftermarket) shifter, original standard gauge cluster and rally dash set w/ 7K tach,Dash is cracked, New Black Convertible Top w/ glass back window, nice Black Boot, NO snap buttons in rear molding. Drivetrain: Completely professionally rebuilt 318 (by local Dodge Dealership) 10.5 compression, purple cam, Edelbrock Streetmaster aluminum manifold, Edelbrock carb, 727 Trans., 8 3/4 rear, Hooker Competition Headers, Flowmasters Body: Very solid car. TA Fiberglass hood and TA hood springs, Fenders are solid, Frame is solid, Inner Fenderwells are solid, Firewall Cowl and sides are solid, Doors are solid has a very little rust spot appearing in front corner of door, professional replaced drivers floor pan (goodmark) pass side was/is solid, under rear seat solid, trunk pan has a few small holes and could use replacing but not gone. trunk extensions solid, 1/4 panels- checked with paint gauge and can tell some bondo work was done in bottoms of 1/4's. Car is complete with clear title and bill of sale. NO Fender Tags or build sheet I reserve the right to end auction early since it is for sale locally. This is a great car to restore or resto rod/ pro touring build. Runs and drives. Has not been on road for over a year so have a mechanic go through car completely before being a daily driver. We drive it around complex to keep everything from going bad.On Oct-04-11 at 11:48:23 PDT, seller added the following information: update on body: for restoration: 1/4 panels in front and behind rear wheels have repair work. they look decent for driver but i want to be as honest as possible. I recommend 1/2 panels but u can get away with patch panels. i pulled the fiberglass covering up in the trunk floor and i recommend a trunk pan. update on interior: seats are in good shape but do show age, they would look great redyed. (excepyt drivers which is has tears) this is not a show car but is a good looking and solid driver. if you use the buy it now i will include the 340 motor. its a 1-22-71 340 with edelbrock 6077 performer heads, crane 69-1.50, B-10 roller rockers, march pulley, mopar P4452893 aluminum manifold, Milidon deep sump oil pan, stroker steel crank....
