Vehicle Detail

I have a 1977 Buick Limited Landau Coupe in my garage and when it's in there, I can't walk around it. I bought the car 2 months ago from the estate of what I was told was the original owner. She may have been the 2nd owner depending on which family member you asked. Anyway, she passed away in 1996 and the car was stored in her husbands shop under cover and for the last year in the family's barn in Pennsylvania. I bought it as soon as I saw it. The light metallic green paint is faded, but the body is straight as an arrow and 99.9% rust free. The only spot of rust I found was on the very bottom of the passenger door under a piece of trim. It is solid underneath as well. The Landau top has no splits or cracks. The interior is really nice. There is a split seam on the driver's seat back but the rest of the upholstery is clean. Not one crack in the dash. Not one crack or split in the door panels. Even the outside window scrapers are nice and pliable. The headliner is poofy in spots. All electrics work- windows, locks, lights, radio. The climate control unit works and the a/c compressor comes on and the air blows cool. The driver power seat work fine. You would have to reglue the interior rear view mirror back on. The carpets are even in decent shape as is the trunk. The stainless trim is in nice condition all around. The bumpers are in nice shape with just a couple spots on the rear bumper that have thinned chrome-wise. The engine is the bigger option 403. It starts well and idles well. I have only driven the car at low speed i.e. my neighborhood(it's not registered) and the trans seems fine. If I were to keep the car I would do a tune up and change some hoses and belts even though the ones in the car look good, the car was stored for a while and they just started it once in a while and it was barely driven from 1996-2011. The valve cover gasket on the right side should probably be changed as I think it leaks a bit.I have the owner's manual, a dealership brochure(multi page, full color) and boxes of extra parts such as light bezels, interior trim, seat belts and 5 extra wheel covers. If it wasn't so big I would keep it but I don't want a 35 year old car out on my drive under a cover, either. When I bought the car, it was 50 miles away from my house and one of the grand sons-in-law brought it down for me to my house by trailer. They thought I could drive it but it hadn't had a ton of use in 15 years and they felt safer that way. If you were close to philadelphia you could conceiveably drive it home but it might be wiser to truck it just in case you blow a hose or something. It seems to run okay, though. One thing. The title has not come back from Harrisburg yet. The notary told me it takes 6 weeks and it's been 8 so it's due any day.I can take a picture of the pink slip(temp title) that I have if you want to know I am honest. Should you buy the car, I can store it in my garage until the title comes in. I bought an Alfa spider that the owner is going to hold for me a couple weeks while I sell this car. If you buy it and want me to hold it, that's no problem as long a syou pay for it. If you are in the Philly metro area, email me if you want to have a look. The price may seem ridiculously low but I am just trying to get back what I paid plus my listing fees. When I bought it they were in a time bind as they had sold their land to a horse farmer and they were clearing out the barn and they let this car go cheaply. I have another car coming so it makes no sense to try to get every dollar I can. Email with questions, I will answer as honestly as I can. Go Phillies and thanks for looking! p.s. One thing I have to mention- this car has turn signal indicators on the ends of the fenders. The plastic indicator cover on the driver's side is missing. You will have to find that at a salvage yard or online. Also there are suposed to be fender entenders at the bottoms of the rear quarters. They are made of soft, flexible plastic and painted body color. Those had degraded and were brittle so they were removed. The bolts for them are in place. I felt I should mention those details, though small. Thanks!
