On Sep-22-11 at 10:38:14 PDT, seller added the following information: Title is in hand. No loans or liens. On Oct-02-11 at 11:26:27 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had several questions as to:1. Why am I selling the car?2. What is wrong with the car? (I assume this is a result of the low price)3. Why so many mods? As to the why: I have a left ankle injury and can no longer use a clutch. I am selling the car in order to purchase a vehicle with an automatic transmission. As to what's wrong with the car: Nothing! Runs great, will pass emissions, and has nothing wrong mechanically. It does have some minor body/interior scuffs, scratches, etc. But nothing out of the norm for a 6 year old car. One nice thing about Saturns is that the side panels ad doors are basically dent/ding/scratch proof. When this car is clean and waxed, it looks like new. There are some minor marks and dings on the hood, and both bumpers. But nothing that is major. Just normal wear and tear for a 6 year old car. I have set the price low so I can sell the car and get into something else that I can comfortably drive. This car is not for everyone; I have also had a few inquiries as to MPG. This car is not an economy car. It is a performance car and thus will not get 30+ MPG. The MPG will depend on how you drive it. I don't keep track of my MPG, but if I had to guess, I would say 20-22 in town. It is just a blast to drive. I have never raced the car. It will move when you want it to, and it's nice to have that supercharger power when you want it. I have left quite a few cars in the dust at traffic lights and on the interstate when necessary. As to why so many mods: The Saturn Ion Redline is basically the same car as the Chevy Cobalt. Both are GM cars. Many after market mods are available for both cars. Some directly from GM, others from OEM and third party manufacturers. When I purchased the car new in '05, I had the local Saturn dealership perform most of the mod work the first 3 years. After Saturn closed their doors and our dealership closed, my son and I performed the rest of the work. Almost all of the after market mods for this car are bolt-on, and require no additional work. The tune and dyno were done by a high performance auto shop locally. I did all of the sound/video system work myself. I still have some (not all) of the stock parts that I will gladly throw in for the winner of this auction. I have actually owned two of the '05 Redlines. I sold the other one I had back in '07 because my wife got a company car and we did not need three cars. (I occasionally speak with the person that bought that car and they still have it and love it!) That car was a "competition" model. The comp package included items such as limited slip differential, ladder tach and boost gauge, high tail fin, fog lights. I had that car modded so it would throw 20lbs of boost. This car I have for sale will throw 15lbs of boost! I have owned four Saturns the last 10 years (2 of them Ion Redlines) and in my opinion, I think the ION was the best car they ever made. Sad to see them go. The Ion Redline is a fun car to work on, and even more fun to drive. There is a very good online forum for this car (www.redlineforums.com), which provides lots of mod information and a knowledgeable community for this rare car. There were not a lot of these made and sold, so the owner community is very tight knit. I hope this answers some of the questions that people have had about this car.
