Up for auction is this 1974 Ambassador Brougham sedan 4 door with 70,600 miles, a 360 2 barrel carb, 727 automatic transmission, power steering , power brakes, AM radio and a reciever trailer hitch. This is the only year for this body style, leaded fuel and the last year for the Ambassador. I purchased this car last year with intent to fix it up and have something different then anyone else. Also being a sedan, insurance would be cheap. This car was in a fender bender back in 1975 and was repaired by the original owner. I bought it from the grandson of the original owner. His grandfather did the repairs himself, not very good at aligning the fenders up, and drove it like this. The frame (unibody) is straight and never repaired. The car tracks and drives straight down the road. The front right lower fender is bent from a tire blow out and hitting the fender years ago. When the grandfather (original owner) past away the grandson got the car and replaced the exhaust, water pump and a few other things about 5 years ago. I seen this car about 4 years ago driving around and then it disappeared. I spotted it last year behind a garage and tried to contact the owner, but no luck. Then one day it was in his driveway for sale and I bought it. He told me the brakes went out so he parked it and then decided to sell it because he had no plans to get it back on the road. This is why the vinyl top is dry rotted and coming apart. It is the original top. There is only two rust spots, one on lower part of drivers side passenger door and one behind the passenger rear wheel. (look at pictures) Other then that it is rust free. The glass and interior is perfect and everthing works except the A/C due to the compressor missing. (YES THE GAS GAUGE WORKS) The owner told me he took the compressor off to replace the water pump and never put it back on. I have replaced the front calipers and pads, master cylinder, rear brake shoes, radiator hoses, belts, antifreeze, oil and filter, idler arm, tires and gas filler neck hose which attaches the filler neck to the gas tank. I also had the carb rebuilt on 05/20/2011. The car still needs a vinyl top, an A/C compressor, and a tune up. It starts right up and runs good. There is no warranty at all on this car. AS-IS!!
