Vehicle Detail

1987 Porsche 924S Hello and thank you for your interest in my Porsche. I would like to try and describe every detail about the car that I can think of so that the potential buyer knows what they are looking at and bidding for. First off I purchased this car a few months ago from a friend of mine who was in some money troubles. The main reason he sold the car is that there is a leak coming from a transmission line on top of the rear transaxle. The line is a hard line with what looks to be a flair type fitting on the end of it. It enters the top of the transaxle. I have not made any attempt to make any repairs on the line. As far as possible repairs, I would assume that at worst case the line would need to be replaced. It also may just need a new flair put onto the end of the line, or a new nipple fitting screwed into the top of the transaxle. The leak itself is pretty bad. There is a nice clear level bottle under the rear of the car so the fluid level can be monitored. After about 10 miles of driving it looses about 1 quart of fluid. I have watched the level carefully and never let it go below the "min" line on the resivor. The fluid can also be topped off as this is also the fill point of transmission. I have driven the car a little bit since i have purchased it in order to get an idea of how it runs and drives. The transmission DOES NOT slip and i don't believe that it has been run too low in order for any internal damage. All the gauges in the car appear to work just as they are supposed to. All of the lights work, including the flip up headlights work flawlessly. Car starts up every time, no battery draws. Has newer michelin tires, good looking phone dial wheels. Runs smooth at 70mph down the expressway. Exhaust sounds good, car shifts well, has some pretty good acceleration. Has an aftermarket cassette deck. Pioneer i believe. Sounds like pretty much all 80's car stereo's. (so so) Heat works great. A/C fan doesn't turn on. But you can blow in fresh air just fine. Power mirrors, power windows and all other controls work just fine. Other items about the car.... The sunroof in the car has gone missing at some point. in it's place there is a large panel of glass fitted. It can't be opened but serves as a nice large sunroof. The glass is tinted so it's not too bright. The body/paint on the car i would rate a 6 of 10. The body is fairly straight. a couple small door dings/scrapes in paint. clearcoat is peeling up on the roof. also looks as though it has been repainted at some point in time. No rust problems. a couple small surface rust spots where there is a scratch on pass rear quarter panel. Interior is also about a 6 of 10. The seats have covers installed. There is some stains on the drivers seat under the cover where it looks like a drink was spilled. The dash has the usual cracking. some of the headliner coming unglued. it is vinyl so it could be reglued. And finally the last issue i can think of would be the shift linkage. Everything works just fine it is just out of adjustment. Goes into park normally, just that "drive" is actually at the "2" and "reverse" is where "neutral" would be. The only gear lost is the low "1st" setting on the shifter. Alright i think i pretty much touched all the bases. If you have a question i didn't answer already please feel free to message me. I'm not looking to make a killing on this car. It sounds worse in my discription than it really is. Most likely the cheapest/best deal on a Porsche on Ebay. Thank you for reading through and your interest, Jon
