Vehicle Detail
If you're looking at this auction you are either in the market for a 4x4, a rock crawler or just a scout lover. I don't know if this is the particular scout for you but here goes. It's one of those vehicles that learn all the ins and outs of that someone else couldn't just jump in and drive. Those are my favorite kind. If a vehicle with "character" isn't your style then go back to the xterra and yukon auctions. If you are a moron, a tire kicker, an imbecile who can't pay when he says he will then PLEASE don't bid on my truck. I've done enough auctions and I just can't stand idiots. I come across as a jerk, I'm not. Thank you. This is the first vehicle I purchased with my wife years ago. We've had our ups and downs with it but it's time to sell it off to another binder lover. I have named it The Ghost. White, partially see through, and scares people who ride in it to death. The past couple of years I have done the following. Swapped 3/4 - 1 Ton axles underneath. Front is an HD44 that was ground and twisted and the rear is a Corporate 14 bolt. They both contain 4.56 gears. Had the carb professionally rebuilt. I've had some auto choke trouble but he didn't work on that. Put deep dish spoked wheels with 35 inch hummer tires. Did a FULL hi steer swap with parts mike arms and NEW chevy steering parts. New dropped pitman arm. New ball joints even though the rubber are cracking. New combo u joints in the back. The front drive shaft is NOT hooked up. I had the u joints torched out but never put in new ones yet. A friend of mine and I put in new floors and body mounts up front about 5 years ago. They need sanded and sealed. I've been working on the suspension and haven't done it. Motor is still a 345, Holley 2210c carb, torqueflight 727 transmission, Dana 20 transfer case. Has gas tank skid plate from the factory. 260z bucket seats up front. Has a show bar which will NOT save you if you roll it. A scout weighs nearly 5000 pounds, don't be an idiot. It does however hold a bikini top nicely and will get you several thumbs up. New brakes all around, still need the rears adjusted, yes they are still drums. Yes I was too lazy to swap to discs, yes that was stupid, no I do not care what you think. The e brake is not hooked up. Still needs done I was planning new front and rear bumpers, never got that far. The springs need reworked. I just needed to get it rolling again so I put it on stock springs, spaced and reinforced them. Need to swap to 44044 or chevy springs and go nuts. I have a borgeson steering joint setup to get rid of the rag joint. 100 percent necessary with bigger tires. It will be included, I'm not putting it on. I bought it for 160 about a month ago. There is a leak upfront that I THINK is the valley pan gasket. It drips onto the tranny eventually and smokes. Smells like a man truck, doesn't work so great on the ladies. If you buy this vehicle you WILL sign a release of liability and recognize that this is a vehicle that was modified and that I will carry absolutely no liability if my modifications get you or that guy next to you in the BMW killed. I require a 100 dollar NON REFUNDABLE deposit within 48 hours of the auction close. For those who don't understand that means I require 100 bucks once you win the auction, if you mom then won't give you enough money to come and pick up the rig you do NOT get your 100 bucks back. It doesn't seem that difficult to me but some people just don't get it. Maybe it's the public eduction system these days, I don't know. If you do not send a deposit I will simply list the auction again and will sign your email address up for as much spam as I can find. Email all the questions you like, I'll take pictures of whatever. On Sep-21-11 at 16:24:56 PDT, seller added the following information: A couple other things I thought of. The windshield is cracked but I have a complete better frame without rust etc. With the top off only two bolts hold it on there. That's included. Also the truck has custom steel braided brake lines all around. They are plenty long for when you get flex and are from Back Country Binders. On Sep-21-11 at 17:37:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Was asked for a rocker picture, new rockers on both sides, new front body mounts in the second picture. Took one of the new floor from underneath but it's even of worse quality than these two. Couldn't get anything to focus in the dim light. :) On Sep-24-11 at 12:14:27 PDT, seller added the following information: Thought of one more new part. I put brand new mile marker lockouts on. Again, these are not the wimpy 1/2 ton stuff they are big 3/4 to 1 ton gear. Added new pic.
