Vehicle Detail
I am selling my "1990 Ford Mustang LX 5.0 notch. This was a project I have been working on for about 2 years until I recently found a deal on a newer mustang and no longer wish to work on this car. I am selling the car AS-IS with no warranty of any kind. I have done my best to describe the car accurately. There is just so much I have done and purchased for this car. If you are wanting a notch/coupe this is an excellent project to pickup on where I left off. I just don't need 2 mustangs so I am selling my project. The car is in running condition and still needs to be reassembled. Since this is a project I am only listing the items I have replaced. The car could still need other various parts to make it a complete restoration.. My asking price is basically just what I have invested in the engine so far. The car has around 200,000 miles on the body but has "0" miles on the new rebuilt engine. I noticed the Free VIN check says there is a problem with the odometer. These cars only have a 5 digit mileage readout and it was entered wrong it appears and is showing 10,xxx miles, which means 210,xxx which throws up a red flag. All engine/head work was completed at R&B Machine Shop in High Point, NC. Engine: The original 5.0 engine in the car was rebuilt. It was cleaned and checked for cracks and bored .30 over (306ci) , new pistions, new pushrods, new oil pump, new Comp Cams timing chain, lifters, rings, seals, gaskets, etc throughout.. polished crank, flywheel was resurfaced. Rebuilt GT-40P heads with upgraded trickflow valve springs up to .542" lift, with ARP head bolts. Brand new Steeda #18 CAM. New alternator, water pump, new electric fan, New plugs, wires, belts, hoses, A/C has been deleted. Included is a brand new heater core. There are "0" miles that have been driven on this new engine and has not even been broken in yet. It has been ran long enough to tune to run correctly. Transmission: When I bought the car a few years ago I was told it had a world class T5 in it but I never verified. It has a brand new RAM clutch good up to 300hp with 0 miles on it that I installed. The clutch will need adjusting still for driver preference. Body: I have a new front bumper with a brand new header panel for the headlights that ill come with the car. Headlights do not come with the car as they were faded so I threw them out. Not shown in the photos is the rear taillights, I do still have these and they are in great shape. I have a brand new rear bumper that will come with the car. The original hood is not shown on the car but will come with it. I had a new front radiator support installed and welded in. Since I was restoring the car it was slightly bent and needed to be replaced. The drivers side fender had a new dents in it that I didn't want to repair so I purchased a replacement fender that is in great condition. I still have the original fenders. The fenders are currently not bolted down and look uneven in the photos. The suspension should be ok although I have not gotten to this part of the car. I was told it has lowering springs on it when I bought it but I can not confirm even though it does appear a little lower than stock. Exhaust: I have a set of "2" brand new DynoMax Racing Bullet mufflers that have not yet been installed. The car currently has the factory exhaust with catted h-pipe on it with a set of Flowmasters. Interior: The car does not have carpet, I still have the 2 front seats and rear seat but they are in rough condition and will need to be replaced. My plan was to purchase new carpet and 2 new seats, and add a rear seat delete kit to the car. I do have the doorpanels still and they are in good condition but need a little attention. Not shown in the photo is the center console but I do still have this as well and it is in good condition and does suffer from the broken ashtray problem these cars have. Exterior: The car will need belt molding all around and isn't very expensive $200 roughly for the kit. The quarter panel windows will need sanded down and repainted. These windows are about impossible to find with good moldings so you have to repaint them. The car is 99.9% rust free from what I can tell. There is a few tiny specs here and there but no where near nothing major at all. I will let the photo's tell the story about the exterior of the car. The pony wheels are in good condition and will need a new set of tires. T I believe this is about the best I can describe the car without you actually looking at it in person. I am asking a fair price considering the amount of money I have invested in the engine alone. If you are a mustang lover you know how rare these original 5.0 cars are getting to find.
