Due to health and its personal economic impact, it is with regret I offer this vehicle for your consideration. Much of the historical information I submit is from the previous owner (a fellow Studebaker Drivers Club member) that I purchased the vehicle from last winter. AACA Grand Concourse Winner. First place - 2009 AACA Grand Concourse - Original Preservation Category. Tag on grille. The trophy plaque goes with the car. Studebaker Drivers Club Northeast Zone Show - 2010 2nd place in the prewar category - 1st place winner was a frame off restoration. This was prior to SDC having an original preservation class. Originally sold in Alabama, (original plate included) by a young man that was killed in action during WWII. It was put on blocks, covered and left in a barn by his parents until their death 45+ years later. (1985?). The next owner, a professional mechanic, purchased it. He replaced the rings, head gasket and head bolts. He put on a few thousand miles in the 24 or so years of ownership. The last previous owner put it up for sale to finance the restoration of his 1956 Studebaker Hawk. The car also has the original clutch, transmission and rear axle. The brake system was completely rebuilt in 2009. She has most of the options available, except hill holder and overdrive, including the original AM radio that works great. Extras include: Climatizer (heater), banjo "phantom" steering wheel, stainless steel lower molding, and much more. The paint is in very good condition - there is some fading on the trunk and a few minor chips from driving (i drive my cars!). Good chrome. The original radio antenna looks new. Also comes with rear fender skirts. An exterior sun visor also goes with it - it is still in primer - never installed. The interior is factory original, except for the front carpet, which was replaced due to discoloring by the previous owner. There are a couple of tears on the front seat upholstery i discovered when i took a black elastic seat cover off. The headliner, while all still in place, has a few small holes. Also, the driver's side door has some wear. Please see all the pics!!! No rust anywhere!!! I've always kept the vehicle in a secure garage. Included in the sale is the owners manual, shop manual and body parts manual, as well as Studebaker service bulletins. This vehicle was appraised prior to my purchase at $13,500. (My reserve is set much lower!) His remarks: "This is a vary rare original factory paint vehicle that has never needed to be restored. To find a vehicle in this condition without being restored is exteremly rare. This is one of the finest original examples of this model that i have ever seen. Every detail of this vehicle is intact and never needed to be restored. It is as it left the factory." A copy of the appraisal is available if you email me with your email address - attachments can not be sent through the ebay mail system. As usual, all the "as-is" and "you are responsible for delivery" apply. A deposit of $500 payable through PayPal is due within 3 days of close of auction. Balance must be paid within 10 days upon close of auction by cash or certified bank check within 10 days of close of auction. Title will not be released nor will the car be shipped until paid in full, and/or my financial institution verifies a certified bank check.
