Vehicle Detail
1954 DeSoto Firedome 4 door sedan with a V8 276 cubic inch Hemi motor and hydrostatic transmission. The car shows 15,000 miles on a 5 digit odometer but realistically is probably 115,000 miles. The car runs fine with no engine or transmission leaks, there is a new starter, 2 barrel carburetor and fairly new single exhaust installed on the car. The car is equipped with power steering but there is a leak in the hose, the gas tank needs to be flushed and I recommend a new gas line as we bypassed the tank and line and installed a small tank in the engine compartment to run the car for now. The body on the car is in good shape, the floor board, trunk, engine compartment, door jams and rocker panels are very good. The outside of the car is a seafoam green with dark and light green interior. 90% of the body is also good with just paint fading and some of the rear side panels have egg shell cracking in the paint and minor surface rust. There is one section on the back drivers rear window side panel and top or rear quarter panel that has some rust as you can see in the photo. The underneath of the car is solid as you can see in the photo and the rear end has no leaks also. The interior is in great shape as the seats have no tears or worn spots, the door panels and headliner are also in good shape. The carpet needs to be replace or can be redyed. All the chrome on the outside is there and mostly in good condition but there are pits in the chrome and the back bumper needs replaced or straighten out and re-chromed. All the gauges are intact in the dash and are original as the radio also. The dash itself is also in good shape. The steering wheel center cap and the radiator cap both have the clear resin Mr. DeSoto figure on them. This car would make a great cruiser with little work and paint, if needed you can come and see the car, selling the car in as-is condition with no warranties, have a clear title for the car, any questions please send me an email. Buyer has to make there own shipping arrangements or can pick up. I will help in loading the vehicle onto your transporters trailer.
