1970 MONTE CARLO SS 454. This is Believed to be a TRUE 1970 Monte Carlo 454 I am listing for a friend who is breaking up his Vintage Car Collection do to storage issues. If my information is correct Only 3823 SS Monte Carlo were produced in 1970. This Car is Originally from Virginia and is being sold on an open Virginia Title. The car was last registered on the road in 1984. My friend purchased it in 2005. He has on and off worked on the car's restoration along with his many other muscle car projects. The Car is Rock Solid and Nearly lick the bottom clean underneath. The Engine is NOT the original. It is a 454 but from the mid to late 70's. Odometer shows 104K on the car, the engines mileage is unknown.Transmission is a TH400 and the Rear End is a 12 Bolt Posi and appears to be the Original. The Car is Well Optioned has Factory A/C, Tinted Glass, Power Steering,Power Disc Brakes,Power Windows,Power Locks, Tilt Column With Sport Wheel,Bucket Seats and Console With Horse Shoe Shifter,Lighted Rear View Mirror, Rear Defogger, AM FM Stereo With Dual Rear Speakers and Front Corner Speakers. Gauges and Tach, Power Trunk Release, Vinyl Top with Halo Trim. The Holes Are in the Left Fender well for the Air Ride Cannister, We do NOT have the Air Ride parts however. Talking Interior, the Seats have all been professionally Newly reupholstered, New Carpet and New Headliner. The car is wired for power seats however the seats are now manual. UNDER THE HOOD, we have the Mid 70's 454 Mileage Unknown, Runs Great, New Tune-up, Plugs,Wires,Cap and Rotor, New Chrome Valve Covers, Air Cleaner and Radiator Cover, The Radiator is a Good Solid 4 Core. Exhaust is Headers into a New Stainless Steel Dual Exhaust System With Flow Master Mufflers. The A/C Compressor is Not installed but all the A/C Components are Included. Also a New Under hood insulator is Included but not installed. The Front Fender SS 454 Emblems he has and Are Included but loose in the trunk with other extra and not attached trim. FRAME: Cleaned and Detailed in 2005. New Front and Rear Springs, New Front and Rear Shocks. New brakes Front and Rear and all New Steering, Tie Rod Ends Ball Joints Etc. Has the Original Correct Boxed Rear Lower Control Arms and Rear Sway Bar. Does Not have the Front Sway Bar. Tires are New and on Excellent American Racing Wheels. 275/60/15 on the Front, 235/60/15 On the Rear. The Wheels are 8" on the Front and 10" in the Rear. The Car Runs and Drives and can be driven as it is, but Does Need the Final Touches. The Paint was done in 2005 and has not seen the road, however needs touch up in a few areas, mainly where we scuffed the garage pillars getting the car out of storage. Not dented just paint scuffs, you can see in the pictures. You will notice some chrome trim missing in the pictures, we have the trim and it is included. There is a Trunk Full of goodies going with the car. The Front and Rear bumpers are original, and even though presentable should be replaced or rechromed to bring them to show. In all what you have here is a Nice Solid Drivable Car that you can be proud of as it is, but still needs your final touches to suit your wants and needs. I will call this a 3 Plus Car all day long, and with easy effort can be a high end number 2 car in no time. The hard work is done. Here is an opportunity to own a True Monte Carlo SS 454 that has not been on the road since 1984. A 1000.00 dollar Deposit will be required within 72 hours of sale end, balance due within 10 days of the sale end. Buyer is responsible for pick up and transport of the vehicle and the vehicle must be picked up with 14 days of the sale end. Hopefully some one has a good home for this car and can do the final touches of the restoration and be Proud to own it. PLEASE NOTE: I have been asked several times in the last few days as to how we can prove this was a True SS 454. Answer is We Cannot. To my knowledge it is not possible to verify Without a build sheet and sadly the owner does not have the build sheet. HOWEVER, This car does have the holes in the left inner fender well for the Air Ride Compressor. It did have Air Shocks when purchased, but have been removed. It Does Have the Shock Protector Plates and the Extra Supports Near the Boxed Control Arms. The Did Have the SS 454 Emblems when purchased in 2005. We do Not have the two originals any longer but 2 NOS Emblems are loose in the trunk and go with the car. The Front Fender Do Have the Holes on Top for the Front Indicator Lamps. All Signs of a True SS 454 are there. If in dought, bid it as you would a Non SS and at this price you will still be safe and once you actually see the car, I am quite sure you will be delighted that you indeed may own a true Monte Carlo SS. On Sep-22-11 at 06:33:56 PDT, seller added the following information:Just a Note, A couple guys have asked about the Air Ride Level Control that goes on the rear end, WE DID FIND IT, so yes it does go with the car, still have not found the Canister that bolts to the left fender, but still looking. Have Not found the Fender Indicator Lights yet either or the front sway bar. These items were removed prior to the body and frame painting and have been misplaced over the last 6 years.
