Vehicle Detail

For sale is a real clean 1988 Monte Carlo SS 305 HO V8 with 200R4 transmission and 3:73 open diff, PS, PB, PW, Tilt, Cruise control, Intermittent wipers, Remote L/R mirrors, Rear defogger, Power trunk release and overhead map light. Mostly original except for the paint and most common wear items. I’ve own this car for nearly two years and have driven it daily to work as long as the weather was nice. Odometer just turned 78,000 miles. I purchased this car with 67,000 miles on it. This car drives and rides very nice. Car was never in an auto accident its entire life per previous owner’s conversations. It retains its nice sport suspension feel. An unbelievable highway ride for a car of its age. No noticeable shakes or rattles. Nice tight steering and a nice firm shift. Car was completely stripped of it's originall white laquer paint to bare metal. Blocked out, then painted with base coat clear coat. PPG Deltron 2000 (Lamp black). A very deep glossy shine. All areas were painted except the fire wall. The car is laser straight. The car's overall paint job is not show winning perfect, but very very nice. Correct factory type stripes installed. New door jambs and roof rail seals were installed. All outside trim was removed and painted to it's correct semi flat black shine. The rims were restored to there factory fresh look. The interior is 100% original. There is some slight wear to the seats and some light fading. But overall the interior is great. I removed the entire interior from the car in order to change the car color. Noticed some rust in the drivers front floor pan. I cut out and welded in a new complete panel. This was done the right way. I have a lot of pictures during the welding and paint process. All exterior panels are original to the car. This is a good example of a 23 year old car that was taken care of. I'm having some issues with sealing the door glass to the new roof rail seals, some wind noise. The A/C system works but needs to be charged yearly. The exhaust is in great shape. There are only two negative things I can say about the car. One is the headliner is just starting to sag on drivers side (this week) and the other is door glass will have to be adjusted so they will seal tight against the new roofrail weatherstrip. Besides that, the car is in really good condition. There are no other issue with the car. This is a real good running vehicle and can be driven home. Car was Ziebarted when it was new. Car has a clean Illinois title in my name. New parts New BF Goodrich Radial T/A's Brakes front and rear Shocks front and rear Belts and hose's Tstat Smog pump Fuel pump Clutch fan AC Delco battery Distr cap, plug and wires Starter Oil,Coolant sending units Oxygen sensor Exhaust heat riser valve. Thanks JeffOn Sep-03-11 at 15:39:05 PDT, seller added the following information: 9/3/2011 Head liner will need to be replaced. Started to come loose last week on drivers side. With all the hot weather this year, it did a number on the adhesive that attaches the liner to the back board. The material is in great shape, I don't know if it can be reattached or not. New head liners are avaliable. I wanted to inform anyone that might be interested in the vehicle. Call me with any questions. 630 207-7153 Thanks JeffOn Sep-05-11 at 13:18:45 PDT, seller added the following information: 9-5-2011 Forgot to mention that I have the original GM window sticker and the glove box manual that came with the car. Also a new Haynes 1970-1988 Monte Carlo repair manual.
