3 DAY AUCTION - NO RESERVE - SOLD TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER This is an Original, California 1956 Oldsmobile 88 2 Door Rare Hardtop. Remains it's original 324 Rocket V8 Jet-away Hydra-Matic automatic trans. Options include air condition, power steering, power brakes & defroster. Built in South Gate, California & spent it's entire life in Los Angeles area. Original owner purchased this Oldsmobile new in Hollywood, CA. He semi-restored the Olds for the first time back to original in the early 90's. Where he then passed it down to his daughter in the year of 05' making it a family owned '56 Olds. Olds has always been garage kept & well maintained. Was repainted once back to original 2 tone color combination - Citron Cream / Citation Bronze. Floors & undercarriage are original & in clean shape. Trunk & jambs are solid as well. Bottom fenders have some minor bubble rust spots as well as front of hood has some minor rust. Beside that, olds body is in good original shape & looks to be original body panels as well. Trim & chrome is original & in good shape, Bumpers does have some pitting & surface rust. Interior is in nice shape & driver quality. Dash is original & in good shape as well. Under the hood Olds remains stock & still remains its original 324 rocket engine w/ automatic hydra- matic transmission. Olds runs & drives good. Brakes & shifts just fine. I recently rebuilt transmission & have receipt costing $1300 Dollars. Transmission has less the 50 miles on the fresh rebuilt. Glass is original & the lights work. Windows roll up & down just fine, still has its original hubcaps. Comes with a clear California title, original owners manual and a few receipts from over the years.
