Vehicle Detail

1959 Mercedes-Benz W189 Adenauer 300d with Fuel Injection and power steering. This car has a very low reserve price. The car has been in storage for about the last 30 years. At the time it was stored the fuel injected engine started with ease and ran well. This was a running and operating car when it was last driven. The car is 99 % complete. The only items that I know are missing are the 2 front lower blinker/parking lights, the two headlight beauty rings, the right top of fender blinker lens, hood ornament, jack and lug wrench. The interior is complete with all knobs, gauges and clock. It has the air cleaner sitting in the trunk along with the spare. The ignition key is in the ignition. My father is looking for the other keys and they will be included if he finds them. It has leather seats with the two large style head rests. It has the Becker Mexico AM/FM radio that looks original. This car has been sitting for 30 years without being started. I would not expect it to start or for the brakes to operate. Expect this car to have all the problems any car would have that has sat for 30 years. Thus it needs to be hauled. The glass all looks good except for the windshield that does have a crack on the right side. Most of the chrome is all in good shape and might look presentable if cleaned up. The exterior door handles have some pitting on the surface. The back bumper is straight and no notable pitting. The front bumper has lost most of its chrome and does show pitting and has a bend on the left side. The metal is thick on the bumpers and I would expect that it could be straightened and rechromed. This car has developed rust in a number spots while sitting, including rusted through spots on a number of the panels, including fenders, doors, rocker panels and quarter panels. The right side is more affected than the left. The one picture shows the damage to the lower right side. The one image that is tough to tell what is pictured shows a hole in the trunk floor near the deck lid. This car will need panel repair or replacement in spots to return it to its original beauty. This car is repairable but can also serve as a parts car. The odometer shows 23,832. I am unsure of the actual mileage. 123,832? I t is believed that the odometer worked correctly with the car went into storage. No inspections after the auction has ended! The sale is final. $1,000 payment is required within 48 hours of the end of the sale. Full payment is required within 7 days of the end of the auction. Pick up of the vehicle needs to occur within 3 weeks of the end of the sale unless previous arrangements have been agreed upon. I am posting this vehicle for my father. He has owned it since about 1975. I lived at his home when he purchased the vehicle. I recently took the pictures of the car. I will mention that the vehicle is at his house in Belleville, IL 62223 in order for you to get a shipping quote or to determine the distance. Bids will only be accepted from the continential United States.
