1971 VOLKSWAGEN WESTFALIA CAMPER BUS!! 99% Rust Free New Mexico Bus. Original Paint ***Please Look At Video Below*** Up for auction is a two owner (same family) 1971 Volkswagen Westfalia Camper Bus/van. New Mexico vehicle for the past 37 years. The bus was originally purchased in California and transported to Los Alamos NM in 1974. It has been in the NM since. I bought the bus from the originals owners son two years ago and have had it in storage since. Currently the bus runs great with no problems. The engine has about 10k miles on a rebuild which was done at Foreign Aide here in albuquerque. No leaks, no issues. The breaks are great and stops on a quarter. Steering is very tight with little to no slack in steering wheel.I would feel super confident if you were to fly here and drive it home. Interior: All original interior. Nothing missing from the camping equipment. Front seats are torn (look at pics) rear seats do have tears as well. some original curtains exist. Floor mat in great shape. Pop top tent IS torn also (look at pics). Childs cot IS present and in great shape. Hold downs for pop-top are broken and need replaced, and seal around inner pop-top keeps falling down due to shrinkage. I have not tried the sink so i do not know if it works. Exterior: All original paint on this one. Fiberglass top is in great shape with no cracks. New seals around all sections of pop top. ZERO BONDO. Wheels/tires: original date matching wheels with new tires...less then 5k on them. Wheels were cleaned up and painted correct color. Glass: Glass is in great shape. None missing. Jelouise windows work great with all glass. Front windshiled has two very small chips. NO cracks. front windshield has new gasket Engine: 1641cc dual port engine with 10k on rebuild, runs great.(Sorry in video I say it has 5k, the tires have 5k miles) New Battery installed. Paint: Original white L87 paint. Never been re-painted. Has been buffed out to a nice shine. very small dent around driver rear tailight (look at pics). Nose is perfect and rust free. Transmission: shifts good, good clutch. No issues or leaks. Electical: The electrical system on the bus is in great shape. Everything works as is should. Headlights ,tailight, horn, etc are all in working order. Rust: I want to be incredibly transparent/clear about the rust/lack there of, on this vehicle. Currently the bus has rust on the driver side floor board. Two very small pea holes are present. The bus did have rust just to the front of the rear wheel wells on both sides and on the driver side lower dogleg.I had it all professional replace with "green metal" not the cheap stuff. Please look at pics and video. There is no bondo on these areas, just great welding. I then sprayed white primer on it to prevent rust. Rockers are super solid, battery tray is solid, Corners are solid. Nose is solid. If you have any other questions about rust please call me. FINE PRINT: Please bid carfully on this vehicle. If you cannot pay for it, then you should reconcider. This is a binding contract and if you break the contract I will take further action aginest you.
