Vehicle Detail
Hi. You are looking at a 1969 camaro that is a GREAT candidate for an easy restoration. This car is VERY solid. The places where these cars rot are all solid on this one. The floor boards, trunk and rear frame rails are in excellent condition and from what I see they have never been patched or repaired. They are intact and very nice. This car was being restored approximately 12 years ago by my stepfather (lets call him the camaro god) lol , then his health changed. The car was stored and he lost interest in it. Before it had been stored here are some of the things that I know were done to it. The floors, trunk and frame have been painted / undercoated. The body work was minimal but started. The entire engine was rebuilt. It is a 73 350 with flat top pistons and power pack heads, aluminum intake with a 4 barrel quadrajet. The transmission was also rebuilt. It is a 350 turbo. I dont know what was done with the transmission, I just know it had been redone. The rear is a 10 bolt multi leaf spring with 256 gears non posi. He was building this one to drive weekly therefore put these gears in it for gas mileage. The car runs excellent and drives the same. It has been maintained over the years so it needed nothing but a battery to drive. I cannot verify that the odometer reading is correct, mileage may be correct due to the condition of the floors.??? The seats front and rear are nice with no tears. It has an automatic console. The headliner is there and complete but there a small area where the stitching is starting to separate (appox 3/4 inch). No carpet and I am not sure about the dash pad yet (it may be in the garage but I did no look for it yet). The rear bumper seems nice with mild scattered surface rust ( I believe will clean up with steel wool). There is no grill or front bumper or headlighs (as far as I can tell these are the only missing items). The car has a 69 GM SS hood on it. The cowl tag decodes: Built in the 3rd week of October 1969. Exterior was Hugger Orange. Interior was Black Vinyl. The VIN shows it was a V8 coupe. (everyone has their own opinion but this color combination with a blk top is one of the most desirable) There is some surface rust on the vehicle which almost rubs off with your finger. A once over with a DA sander will cure that quick. There is some spots that will require some work and they seem to be on the lower front fenders behind the wheel. The rest of the car is nice. I did find out that the quarters have been replaced at one point (they were done before he owned the car). The quarter replacement seems to be done very well. The wheel openings of the rear quarters are excellent. If you have no history on ebay you will need to call me or I may reject your bid (as I stated I am busy and I do not want to relist due to a nonpaying bidder) The winning bidder is responsible for all transportation of the vehicle. If a bidder wants to see the car please call to set up a time. As I stated this car needs to be completely gone over due to sitting in storage for 12 years but it is solid and a great start. I have restored many cars over the years and this one would be easy compared to most of its age. I will list my number with this add but ONLY call if you are a SERIOUS bidder. I will not entertain questions just because of the need to know, I am busy. But I will be more than glad to answer anything I can to a serious bidder. If I dont answer please leave a short message and I will call you back. (570) 444-5110 Thanks for looking and happy bidding. PS: there is a reserve on this car and it is for sale locally. The reserve is reasonable for a solid 69 camaro and I will not tell what it is. It should have no problem meeting the reserve. On Sep-13-11 at 17:04:58 PDT, seller added the following information: I also have the original 307 block for this car that I forgot to list in the description.
