It's going to be a beautiful riding season. Enjoy it with this unique, fun, sturdy Honda!!! Can't beat a Shadow!! 1988 Honda Shadow VT800 This is a unique bike in great shape. It has 4 gears. No overdrive. Sounds GREAT, hauls butt. Shaft-driven, LOW maintenance. I bought this Honda from a friend in 2004; it runs great and has been an awesome bike. 13,387 miles on the odometer. It had one owner before him. I am using it to help with downpayment on a house. The 800's were only made one year; Honda bored out the 750 because 1988 was the first year anything over 750 was insurable/legal in America. In 1989 they began to manufacture 850s. However many parts from the 1986/87 700cc will fit this bike. Over five years it's had about $2000 into restoring it. It has been down 3 times in its lifetime that I know (only once with me) of but always keeps ticking. Has new tires, new seat, new battery, new fan, new pipes, new tank, (now plain black), etc. Slow leak in front valve stem only results in having to air up the front tire occasionally. It has 2 chips and one dent in the tank. Right now it only needs the handlebar mounting bracket bolt/handlebars straightened, a right front turn indicator and a new tachometer (if you think you need one)
