Vehicle Detail
I've done tons of ebay selling but this is my first car so bare with me please. 1927 Studebaker Erskine antique automobile in near complete condition. This historic car was once a Chicago police car! The outline of the once-painted-on letters can be seen just barely under the black paint surface. My father-in-law has owned this car for about 30 years now and it has been stored inside. It appears the original color was a deep reddish brown as you can see on the hood in the pictures. The last time my father-in-law started it up was about five years ago and it did run fine but hasn't been started since. The fluids will need to be changed before crank starting it. It has a flathead six motor and it is original with a three speed manual transmission. All the wheels are the original wooden spoke with whitewall tires. The front radiator has the original blue Erskine metal decal on it. Nearly everything is here for this car - The left side running board needs to be reattached. Currently it is being stored inside the car. The front headlight assembly and bumper are also inside of the car and need to be put back on. The single tail light serves as the license plate holder, the right and left turn signal and the brake light. It is in perfect condition. The windows are all there as well as all the inner winder handles to roll the windows down. There are three windows on each side that roll down. The front windshield tips out to let air flow in but the left side is missing a bracket. The only other thing that appears to be missing is the right side passenger door handle on the outside. The interior is a light blue and is in good, complete condition with no tears and defects that I could see. The seats are black (not sure if they are leather or vinyl). There are two bucket style seats in the front and a bench seat in the back. The floor and steering wheel is also made of wood and has no major defects. All the guages are there and securely in place. We've been told that this is one of only five cars of this model and year left in the WORLD!!! It is very rare and would be a great addition to any car collection. I've included about six pictures in this auction but I have so many more. The car is sitting in my garage right now so if you need pictures emailed to you, just let me know or if you have specific questions about the car, please just ask. I don't know much about classic cars so I might have missed putting something important in. My father-in-law loves this car and is very passionate about having it restored. However, he has some medical problems so the car has to go. Deposit of $500 via Paypal is required within two days of auction close with the balance required at pick-up in the form of money order or cashiers check or via Paypal. The purchaser will need to arrange transportation at their expense. We hauled it to our garage on a standard car hauler and it fit perfect. Pospective purchasers are welcome to stop by and inspect the car - we reside in southwest Michigan. If you'd like my address and directions, please email me.
