For sale is my 4.7 liter V8 powered 1997 F150 Short bed Regular cab full size pickup truck. You may notice that I have 100% perfect feedback I would like to keep it that way. So, I will try to describe this as accurately as possible. The good. This is a nice looking truck. I have been driving this truck every day. It starts and runs easily and handles nicely. The V8 engine provides a lot of power. The seats are in good condition with no holes. The air conditioning and heat work but the A/C could use a charge. I added many aftermarket items to the truck. This would be an ideal work truck or for a lawn service because of the modifications I've done to it. I used this to pull my 5th wheel so I spent about 4000 on parts added to make it ready for heavy towing. It has a Ford Racing brand 4/10 ratio rear end gear making it very strong for pulling or accelerating but reduces the top speed $1200. It has a heavy duty air lift suspension system with under hood compressor $700. In order to get the air lift suspension to fit I had to make room by getting offset after market rims. So, it has nice wheels on it costing another $900. It also has a heavy duty anti sway bar on the rear end so it does not lean when carrying a heavy load around a corner $300. It has heavy duty electric fans on the radiator $500 and a heavy duty transmission cooler with a cobalt transmission temp guage inside the cab $280. It has a brake controller for trailers with brakes $200. It also has a Reese 16K sliding fifth wheel hitch $800. It has a Cobalt brand tool box that I think was a couple hundred dollars. It also has a Uhaul heavy duty recieved hitch $500. I also just put a new battery in it along with a new NAPA brand heavy duty alternator. You may not need all the extras like the hitch. If you don't need some things you can pull them off and sell them on Ebay. The Reese 5th wheel hitch sells used on ebay for around $300... I have the clear title in hand. The bad The engine light is on and has been since I bought the truck 6 years ago. The speedometer does not work. When they installed the 4/10 rear end they added a module to the speedometer to adjust for the new gear ratio. This module has become disconnected causing the speedometer and odometer to stop working. I have a GPS that shows my speed so even though the module is just behind the fuse box I never bothered to track down the loose connection. The odometer is stopped at 172k miles. The 185k figure that I list as the mileage on the truck is a high estimate since the odometer stopped about a year ago and part of that time I had another car. The pin that locks the transmission shift lever fell out so now you can shift into gear without having the break on. I have the pin if you want to put it back in. There are some interior trim pieces that seem to fall off regularly like the trim around the brake controller. They just snap back in place. The other gauges (Fuel, oil pressure, temp, and voltage) show incorrect readings. This started 3 weeks ago when the old battery died. I jump started the truck off a battery charger and I guess the voltage spike messed up the gauges. This does not affect the running of the truck so I have not had it fixed. I'm keeping the radio. The truck currently has an expensive sound system in it that is more expensive than the truck. Sorry, I'm keeping it. So, if you buy the truck you will need to get a radio. The Ugly The truck needs a good bath. I'm moving and I just don't have the time to give it a good cleaning before it sells. The bed on the driver side had a dent professionally repaired but it is not the original paint. With the exception of the drivers side bed the paint is original and there are many scratches. Some may buff out some may not. The tint is coming off the passenger window. The plastic trim around the climate controls has some scratches. I've tried to describe the truck accurately so that even if you don't come see it you will know what you are getting. However, when I read my description it sounds worse than it is.
