Vehicle Detail
Honda CB750 Special. 1970 Custom cafe racer, bobber. This is a CB750 that has been professionally built from the bare frame. Everything has been either rebuilt, refurbished, replaced, polished, rechromed, fabricated, or otherwise replaced with new old stock part. Starting from a 1970 CB750 I had with a bad engine and a 1977 CB750A with only 3847 miles with a bent frame, I decided to combine the good 1970 frame and components with the pristine super low mileage CB750A engine. The engine has an automatic transmission. That's right, no clutch to bother with, just put it in gear and drive off just like a car. You just have to shift the gears with the foot pedal. Totally awesome and comfortable. These Honda CB750A automatic are totally bullet proof and with very few parts, they will outlast the engine by at least 2 to one if not more. They run on the same oil as the engine so there is nothing to do to maintain the transmission except change the engine oil that you will do anyway when you service the engine. The engine/transmission has only 3846 total miles (subject to change slightly as I may ride the bike a bit before it sells) so it has lots and lots of miles of service left. The engine was serviced with new gaskets, valve adjustment, oil and filter, rebuilt carburators. It retains the electric starter with the battery under the custom gas tank. The engine starts at the touch of the starter button cold or hot and runs totally awesome, and sounds amazing, not too loud as the custom exhaust has a baffle built in that lowers the decibels to a nice purr. If the part is aluminum it was polished, if it is steel it was rechromed or replated. The wheels are a major plus for this bike, they have been completely rebuilt starting with the stock DID rim powder coated then laced with brand new clear zinc plated spokes with gold cadmium plated nipples, new top quality Dunlop 4.0/18 rear tire with new cst front tire. New tubes for both. Both hubs have been polished. Front and rear brakes have been serviced and have the stock front caliper fitted with a vintage high performance Nissin master cylinder. The forks have been completely rebuilt with new bushings and seals. The frame has been modified with the removal of unused brackets, etc. There is no oil tank needed as all the oil is carried by a larger oil pan on the CB750A engine. The gas tank is a very special modified original tank that has been narrowed 2 inches. The original CB750 tank style I always thought was good but sooo wide, so the narrowed tank looks really good. I have had the tank for several years just waiting to have a chance to use it. It has a brand new factory Honda gas cap. The seat and rear body/fender/cowl is custom made. The rear part was fabricated from steel and the seat base is made from 1/8" thick aluminum with a suade leather seat on a 1" foam base. The handlebars are custom made and bolted to a pair of alloy clipons, they are bent to provide a comfortable seating position while still looking cool. The headlight is a custom halogen unit. The speedometer is a german made (VDO brand) unit, fitted with a custom made cable. The exhaust is a custom made system that has a rear baffle/muffler that provides just the right amount of backpressure needed for good torque and smooth running, and sounds great too. There are a lot of details I am not mentioning but you can be sure that everything was worked on. Clear Title is included.
