Vehicle Detail
1957 Nomad Up for auction is a 1957 Nomad,Body # CL 397 Factory colors India Ivory and Tropical Turquoise. Odometer shows 26,000 but true mileage unknown. This car has been in storage since 1986 it has power steering and power brakes. The car was a new restoration when I purchased it, the previous owner installed a later model 327 motor and newer automatic transmission, all of the bolt on's are original. the car was entered in a few shows and then stored for over 25 years and registered recently and driven a few times this summer, most of the car is original. Laquer Paint still looks pretty good except for the usual couple of dings and touch ups. I noticed some line checking and some paint flaking on the roof today when I was waxing it so the roof should eventually be repainted. I never noticed it before. There is also a slight buckle on the inside of the right rear quarter panel as shown in the photos this is an easy fix. Several mechanical items have been replaced and the car had a recent tune up, new power brake master and brakes, tires were replaced a couple of years ago but have only a few miles on them. 95% of the Interior was replaced last week to make the car original needs a few finishing touches to complete. Headliner did not fit properly and was removed. Sun visors need to be re vinyled (I have the vinyl) All of the bows and hardware for the liner comes with the car. New kick panels come with the car but vinyl needs to be installed, I have the vinyl if I have the time I will install the kick panels before auction end, otherwise the parts go with the car. I have a few spare parts that will go with the car. This car is solid had some older repairs to the floor and rear wells. Spare tire well is solid and free of any major rust. The heater core recently started leaking and was bypassed and the heater cables are stuck and will need to be repaired or replaced. The antenna cable needs to be hooked up to the new antenna, everything else works on the car. Glass is original and is in great shape except for the usual minor wiper wear marks on the windsheild. This car runs and looks great it is a very dependable driver and has no major issues, This is a really nice car it is not perfect but it wouldn't take much to make it perfect! You won't find a better 57 nomad for the money anywhere. Other 57's are being sold on Ebay asking for more than what my reserve is set for! The car will be sold as is being that it is 54 years old. For anyone that is not familiar with NY DMV: cars older than 1973 do not receive a title when registered, a transferable registration is issued and is the equivalent of a title. I checked the title free and clear box because there are no liens on the car and it is free and clear. Any state will accept the clear registration signed by the person it was issued to (me), so if you do not feel comfortable please do your homework prior to bidding. All of the photos were taken within the last month, there are some with the older style interior, the newer original style interior photos were taken yesterday and today. Thanks for looking at my auction and good luck! I will require a $500.00 non refundable deposit thru paypal within 24 hours of auction end and the balance paid by bank check or wire due within 72 hours of auction end or this car will be relisted. I had 2 non paying bidders on my recently auctioned 55 chevy truck which I will be relisting shortly so please serious bidders only. I welcome everyone to come and inspect the car before bidding so please don't expect to inspect it after you win the auction if you win it you own it! Thanks for you interest in my Nomad, feel free to ask any questions Good Luck!
