I have a fairly complete naked Honda Silverwing GL-650 project bike up for sale. At some point the bike was on the Camp Pendelton military base in california. Has Department of defense stickers on the forks. I purchased this motorcycle from a senior gentleman who owned a very large collection of motorcycles including SEVERAL GL-500 and GL650 Honda Silverwings. I drove the bike 40 miles to my home and parked it. I purchased this motorcycle with the intentions of completely restoring the bike back to factory with my son. A recent back injury from a car accident prevents me from riding motorcycles. Why restore it if I can't enjoy it. Bike needs a good home. Has 25,922 miles. This is a great restoration project or a excellent parts bike. Has good compression and spark on both cylinders. Bike has been in stortage for about 2-3 years. Was stored in a dry heated garage. Bike is mostly complete. Needs a few things, both mirrors are missing, front turn signal lense is broken, front tire holds air but is wore and weatherd. Rear tire seems fine. The carbs open and close fine, choke is not stuck. Pet cock flows gas freely. Doesn't leak any fluids. Radiator is full of antifreeze. The front brake master cylinder needs to be rebuilt/replaced and does not work properly but is there. All of the gauges work. The headlight works on brights and dim, turn signals work fine "except the one with the broken lense". Gauges light up at night. Gas tank is very clean on the inside, tank has little to no rust, chrome gas lid is there, but must open with screw driver "No key". I have the key to the ignition, works fine. Ignition was replaced at some point and the key doesn't fit anything on the bike. The carbs need to be gone thru and cleaned/rebuilt to run correctly. Whole bike in general needs to be gone thru and inspected before made a daily driver. Bike will need a complete tune up from sitting. It wouldn't take much to get this back on the road. I am Selling this as a NON running project/parts bike. Sold AS-IS. No gurantees or warranty! Clean michigan title and keys in hand. Contact me with any questions. I received several request from bidders for a short video of me hooking a battery to the bike and spinning the engine over so they can see the engine is not froze up. Some other bidders wanted to atleast hear it fire up with starting fluid so they felt better about buying it. I did a little better. I drained all of the gas out of the tank, drained the float bowls. Put in some new NGK plugs and some V-power gas. Fired it up and made a short video. Still beign sold as a project, as-is with no warranty. Thanks and happy bidding.
