1979 Honda CBX

Too many motorcycles in the garage, too little time. Up for sale is a 1979 Honda CBX1000 6 cylinder bike. This is the most sought after year. It has just under 20k miles on it. This bike is stock with the exception of the fairing and the Corbin seat. The fairing comes on and off easily and I think it looks great on the bike. This bike was taken out of 10 year storage recently where it had been drained of fluids and stored indoors. The bike runs and drives fine with no issues at all. Comes as shown in the pictures. It has a new battery and the brakes are completely rebuilt. I replaced the rear seat cowling. The paint job that is on the bike is not original. The paint on the gas tank has bubbles in it. On the left side of the tank it looks like there are a couple of pinholes very close together that will need to be addressed when the bike is repainted. I run it like this and it does not leak fuel. The tank looks good inside. The bike runs great and is lots of fun to ride. It sounds a lot like a Ferrari. The bike has no mechanical issues, really just needs a good paint job. Clean title in my name, currently registered. Very hard to find in this condition. I am not in a hurry to sell. This bike will only increase in value as time goes by. On Aug-19-11 at 14:48:13 PDT, seller added the following information: I had a request from a buyer for additional detailed pictures of the bike. I took these photos today that show close up details of the engine, brakes and ends of the pegs and levers and the condition of the crash bar. The bike had been stored after the previous owner drooped it while turning into his driveway. It went down on the left side into a grassy area at low speed. The left crash bar took the impact as it was intended. It broke the rear cowling and tail light and those items were replaced as you can see in the photos. The bike was stored and fluids drained until I bought the bike 10 years later. The brake calipers and both master cylinders have been rebuilt. The brake pads were not changed as they have plenty of life left in them. The front master cylinder also has a new reservoir. The foam inserts around the gauges are new. I did not touch the carburetors at all, or disturb the airbox boots. When I bought this bike I fully expected that I would need to go through the carburetors. Rebuilding carbs for motorcycles is what I do, as my eBay ID implies. The bike runs perfect. If it did not I would have gone through them. Like my Dad always told me, if it aint broke, don't fix it.
