BUICK PARK AVENUE 2000 RUNS FINE . MIGHT NEED SOME TLC BLUETOOTH PHONE IN DASH DVD PLAYER ON BOARD TOM TOM GPS SD CARD MP3 MP4 MOVIE PLAYER FULLY TINTED PASSENGER SIDES AND REAR NEON HEADLIGHTS ( or whatever name they go by - the ones that shine White instead yellow ) FULLY POWERED DRIVERS AND PASSENGERS SIDE SEATS POWER WINDOWS , POWER LOCKS , CHILD LOCK . POWER REAR VIEW MIRROR - FEATURING INBUILT COMPASS ( see pics ) AND AUTOMATIC DIMMER AGAINST BLINDING HIGH BEAMS FROM REAR VEHICLES. STEERING HAS CLIMATE CONTROL KNOBS BESIDES CRUISE CONTROL TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM TO AID DRIVING IN WET / SNOW CONDITIONS. HEATED FRONT AND REAR SEATS WITH HIGH / LOW HEAT FEATURE. TAN LEATHER SEATS PASSENGER AND DRIVERS SIDE HAND RESTS THEFT DETERRENCE SYSTEM - INCLUDING ALARM AND DUAL AIRBAGS. ON BOARD DIAGNOSTIC PANEL TO TELL YOU ALL VEHICLE HEATH PARAMETERS FROM OIL LIFE EXPECTANCY , COOLANT LEVEL, BRAKE INFO , TEMPERATURE ETC TO EVEN WIPER FLUID . ALL I DID WITH THIS ( BESIDES ALL THE REGULAR MAINTENANCE ) WAS TO KEEP CHANGING IN THE OIL WHEN IT SAID EXPECTANCY < 30% AND THIS THING RAN ON AND ON AND ON...... I DROVE IT 1000+ ODD MILES FROM TX TO CA...AND WILL NOT HESITATE TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN . ONE OF THE MOST SPACIOUS / COMFORTABLE REAR SEATS AND THE ROOMIEST REARS TRUNKS AMONG ALL OTHER CARS OF THIS KIND : CF FORD GMC TOYOTA LEXUS ETC RIDES THE ROAD LIKE A STAGE COACH GIVES EASY 19-21 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY / 18-20 MPH ON ROADS. REMOTE START : AUTOMATICALLY STARTS THE CAR , TO HEAT IT ON THE PRESS OF A REMOTE , WHILE YOU ARE INDOORS. THIS CAR DID HAVE A REMOTE START ALSO - I BELIEVE. YOU HAD TO PRESS SOME COMBINATION OF KEYS ON THE REMOTE TO GET THAT TO WORK , FAR , AS I CAN RECOLLECT. I CAN SAY WITH GOOD CERTAINTY BUT NOT TOTALLY SURE. CLASSIC WOODEN LACQUER ON THE DASH GIVES IT THE 80'S STYLE ELEGANCE I AM NOT SURE BUT IT LOOKS LIKE THIS MIGHT HAVE A REAR CD CHANGER TOO. I WILL POST A PIC OF THAT LATER ON BUT I HAVE DONT KNOW AND HAVE'NT USED THAT BEFORE. CLEAN TITLE HERE IS A NICE BUICK PARK AVE 2000 . ITS RUNS AND DRIVES FINE. THOUGH IT HAS A LOT OF MILES ON IT, IT DOES NOT FEEL LIKE SO, WHEN YOU RIDE IT. ITS ONE OF THE FEW GM CARS THAT HAD REALLY POWERFUL SHOCKS AND IT FEELS AND DRIVES LIKE A STAGE COACH ON THE ROAD . I GOT IT 3 YEARS AGO FROM A RENTAL COMPANY THAT SAID IT ONLY HAD HIGHWAY MILES ON IT. I am not a Mechanic so , this is my best attempt to try and describe the condition. You are more than welcome to come take a look at it on the week-ends or whenever I have time to show it . Pl understand, your buying what in my opinion is a dependable car - but is NOT "new". So please keep your expectations reasonable . Also there are some small things that might need some TLC from your side - I lost the original remote and got a new one. This one needs to be programmed. Then there is the drivers side seat belt buckle that needs replacement ( the seat belt is perfect - just the receptacle on the seat that holds it firm , needs to be changed . I will buy you on at the end of the auction so you can replace it. I did not bother to change it , cos it snugs on just fine on my big belly , while I drive and is hardly noticed by the folks who'd care to notice it !) . Just recently the drivers side window gave up . Its not totally gone but just manages to open like 20% only - so you will need to get that done. Also, there was a minor abrasion on the front passengers side - I got it fixed at a body shop.Right now you hardly notice it till you are up close < 6 ft and you will only see a few dings as this was fixed. The drivers side gas guage ( analgue one ) does not work but the digital one does work and you do get a warning about 2 gallons before running out of gas, to fill it.There is a yellow fill the gas light as well as repeated dings to remind you to fill gas. With both these , it hardly matters . There is a hair line crack on the windshield at the bottom, extending across 70% of the breadth. I covered this with tinted glass. Unless you look for it , it not obviously noticable. I think this is all I can recollect of the car, on the con side. Its all livable with. No car that sells as a used car with 100K+ miles will ever be totally free of minor faults like the ones I mentioned.- if sellers claim so - they are hiding some things. I found so many times , esp when the vehicle is sold out of state, that minor defects are presumed to be tolerated and hidden ,and you only get to check them out when you collect the car- so you either have a wasted visit to the seller or just end up putting up with them. I have tried to enlist JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ABOUT IT AS ACCURATELY AND FRANKLY AS POSS so you know exactly what your getting. If you still have questions, please ask and I will reply asap, than assume something I did not mean. MORE INFO Here is some more information about Park Avenue's from some reliable sources , without liability of content. You are free to do your won research Wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Park_Avenue) Second generation (1997–2005) Second generation Production 1996–2005[citation needed] Model years 1997–2005 Assembly Hamtramck, Michigan, United States Lake Orion, Michigan, United States Layout FF layout Platform GM C platform Engine 3.8 L Buick V6 (Series II) Transmission 4-speed 4T65-E automatic 4-speed 4T65-E HD automatic Wheelbase 113.8 in (2891 mm) Length 206.8 in (5253 mm) Width 74.7 in (1897 mm) Height 57.4 in (1458 mm) An updated Park Avenue was released in 1997, still a C-body but new in 1997, it is a similar platform to the Buick Riviera's G-body. This new generation was powered by updated Series II variants of the indomitable 3800 Buick V6 engine. As before, only Ultra models were supercharged. The base trim featured a hood ornament while the Ultra had a less conspicuous tri-shield inset in on the upper edge of the grill. The velour interior trim that was only offered as one of the options for the base model was dropped in favor of the leather trim. The Park Avenue went largely unchanged until 2003. Trademark Buick ventiports returned that year along with a bolder grille that carried a larger monochromatic tri-shield badge in the center. For 2005 - its final model year - base Park Avenues received the new grille, and previously Ultra-exclusive ventiports. Also, the rear fascia was redone across the line with a prominent chrome bar above the license plate holder with an embossed Park Avenue script and amber turn signal flashers. The 2004 Park Avenue base was the last USDM Buick to carry a factory hood ornament. The last 3000 Park Avenues carried Special Edition badging that featured the namesake script underneath a silhouette of the New York City skyline. 300 of these were painted with a special two-tone black-on-platinum finish. Production ended on June 18, 2004.[citation needed] The Park Avenue was discontinued after 2005 and in 2006 was replaced by the Buick Lucerne. The Lucerne also replaces the higher-volume LeSabre. http://www.acarplace.com/brands/gm/reviews/park-avenue.html Buick Park Avenue Car Reviews Review Notes: Buick Park Avenue Ultra Personality Retro highway luxo-cruiser granted handling by modern electronics Quirks Mix of retro and modern features and styling; tiny keys Unusual features Loads of gadgets, supercharged V6 Above Average: Handling, technology, luxury appearance - inside and out Needs Work In: Gas mileage, cruise control, instrument panel appearance, console covers The Buick Park Avenue is an interesting mix of the new and old. It takes some traditional strengths of American sedans, such as woodgrain interiors, lots of space, and style, good handling, and lots of gadgets to them. The handling is actually due to a gadget - namely, the Stabilitrak II second generation active suspension. This system quietly and without fuss helps the Park Avenue to stay sure footed at all times. It does so, unlike the original Stabiltrak, with a very subtle feel so you would normally just think that the Park Avenue has a better suspension than it really does. With the optional Stabilitrak system, we suspect most drivers would find handling to be on par with larger BMWs. That is not too denigrate BMW, but to be realistic about what about how 90% of drivers drive. Without Stabilitrak, the Park Avenue suspension provides a good soft ride with acceptable but not exciting handling. Most find this trade-off to be just fine, if Toyota Avalon sells are any indication. The interior, rather than the handling, probably makes some BMW owners jealous. The Park Avenue's tastefully applied woodgrain across the doors and dashboard combined with well chosen, matching tan leather creates an aura of luxury missing on some luxury cars. Although the small instrument panel seems out of place, as does the the 1980s looking stereo, the general effect is pleasing, and works well with the classic exterior. The exterior styling is traditional General Motors brought up to date. It avoids the current jellybean shapes, without going into far into the absurd. Indeed, it would pass muster in the days when GM still controlled the American market with an iron fist; there is even a traditional chrome grille. A recent addition is a pair of a small vents on the front fender, which supposedly vent air under the hood. We are sure they do and that and, but the question is: does it need to be done? We suspect they are only there to link to the past, and and that is perfectly fine. We also suspect that these are the brain child of Bob Lutz, who brought many symbols of Chrysler's past into the present. Thanks to a supercharger, the engine feels retro - that is, like an old and good V8. Gas mileage suffers, though, about 16 mpg in the city, 22 on the highway. With the supercharger you must use premium gasoline, and driving more calmly will be rewarded in gas mileage. The Park Avenue is also available with a standard 3.8 liter which takes regular and gets a respectable 205 horsepower. The supercharger works very surreptitiously, simply providing power without extra noise or any serious delay, so there is instant power on tap without fuss, but with more of a feel of power than with the faster Cadillac DTS. The engine note is pleasant and sounds strong, only get strong acceleration and the streets, but you can keep it around turns, and not worry about screaming tires or flying off the side of and the road. The combination of Stabilitrak and front wheel drive solves two issues of older Buicks: getting around in snow, and finding yourself in the wrong direction after you've hit the gas hard. Inside the car, there are a large number of helpful gadgets. First is the optional status display, which is controlled by a series of five well marked buttons. For example, press fuel info and you will get average and instant gas mileage. Press gauge info, and you get exact oil pressure and the like. These buttons also help you personalize various car features, such as the door locking and making mirrors tilt down when you reverse (those who do not get the status display can use a variety of tricks described in the owner's manual to do the same thing). Read more about these systems, including Stabilitrak and OnStar Another gadget is the "Eye Cue" heads up display, which very conveniently places the speed you are going on a small part of the windshield. It is controlled in brightness and position by controls in the overhead console. This turns out in helping you keep your eye on the road. Also shows you important things in such as the turn signal status and whether you should check your gauges. Two more bits of convenient technology are the rain sensing wipers, which due to good weather we could not test, and the automatic headlights, which work as you would expect them to. There are also the usual luxury features such as dual-level heated seats, passenger climate control, L.E.D. turn signals in the mirrors, integrated compass, thermostatic climate control with outside temperature display, door lights, heated outside mirrors and auto dimming inside mirror, and of course power everything, including power memory driver's seat. Being a GM product, the Park Avenue features OnStar built into the rear view mirror. One part of the Park Avenue's retro design which we appreciated was the transmission and emergency brake controls. The Park Avenue is only sold with an automatic, so a stalk shifter with a foot operated emergency brake makes the most sense, and we were happy to see it had them; shifting is easier from the column. We liked the center consoles less, with their awkward-opening lids, though the main console could store a full-sized tissue box and had a place for a portable tissue pack. Generally, the controls of the Park Avenue were well designed and easy to use, though the traditional GM cruise control stalk is awkward. The steering wheel included both radio and climate controls. The small instrument panel seemed out of place, as did the slanted text on the indicator lights, and for that matter the tiny, undersized keys. The stereo is actually very good even though it looks somewhat old fashioned; the speakers are well placed for good sound and stereo positioning. The climate control is easy to use and understand, and the fan is quiet except at its highest speeds, but one needs to wait a while for the engine to warm up. There is a rear vent as well which can be positioned air up for down. We found the Park Avenue to be very likable indeed, and the equal of many newer vehicles. Our best alternatives are the new Cadillac CTS, based on an Opel but more Cadillicized than its predecessor; the Chrysler 300M, which has a remarkably well designed interior, and a more powerful engine - even without a supercharger; and the Pontiac Bonneville, for those who like luxurious performance. keywords : Car Automobile Chevy Chevrolet Dodge gmc yukon ford ranger explorer mazda bmw ferrari honda nissan toyota hyundai suzuki prius hybrid electric pontiac saturn plymouth subaru oldsmobile audi vw volkswagon mercedes lexus Infiniti acura jaguar isuzu kia ferrari mustang focus cadillac mercury taurus jimmy aerostar lincoln On Aug-19-11 at 08:52:57 PDT, seller added the following information: SOME FEW THINGS TO NOTE..... On Aug-22-11 at 19:44:26 PDT, seller added the following information: ANSWERS TO SOME MORE QUESTIONS THAT WERE ASKED : - I AM OUT OF STATE .WILL YOU WORK WITH ME , TILL I FIND A GOOD SHIPPER FOR THE CAR ?Yes, looking at my current situation - I can easily wait for a month at least ( I will try another month more - but no guarantees , after 1 month ) till you find someone who can ship the car to you and I can do my best in assisting you in finding a shipper. However the car will of course , need to be FULLY PAID UP and I can hold it for a while till you are ready to come fetch it.I PLAN TO DRIVING THIS CAR , OUT OF STATE , RATHER THAN HAVE IT SHIPPED , IS IT OK TO DRIVE IT ?In my opinion - there should NOT be ANY ISSUE at all. I drove the car on all kind of long trips from Lake Tahoe to Yosemite and as far as TX, without hesitancy . The engine still feels very strong. It has 210384 miles on it ( corrected from 178K that I initially posted there - and again sorry for that overlook ) but most of these are high way miles. Apart from the minor fixers or cosmetic blemishes that might need touch up - everything checks out fine .If you are planning on something like that you will need to keep enough time so that you can get go through all the DMV Procedures. On Aug-27-11 at 03:24:47 PDT, seller added the following information: 1 MORE QUESTION .....I'D LIKE TO COME TAKE A LOOK AT THE CAR ..WHEN CAN I COME ..CAN I DRIVE IT FOR LIKE 60 MILES BACK AND FORTH TO SEE HOW IT HANDLES ? YES OF COURSE .... I'D HAVE TO SIT NEXT TO YOU THOUGH , ( OBVIOUSLY !) . . Just email me the best times and your tel # when you'd like to do so . I 'll try and work with your times. 2 Persons already have test driven the car , I think they are very much interested - because I see they have bid on the car. THIS IS A NICE 'USED' CAR. IT WILL KEEP LASTING YOU SO LONG AS YOU GET THE ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND TUNE UPS DONE ON TIME.
