Vehicle Detail
1959 Buick LeSabre station wagon, original 364ci V8 engine, automatic trans. Runs good and drivable, brakes work good, lights and wipers work, as do the guages. Has never been restored, but has been repainted..poorly. Was originally gold. Interier is all there, good dash, but door panels and seats are ragged around the edges. All glass is there, windsheild nice, side windows good, but the rear side windows do have cracks in the very rear corners, and the rear tailgate glass is just laying in the back of the car. Has all the "extra option" stainless trim, around the doors, around the fins, and rear wind deflectors. Has "IOWA BODY" nameplates on the kickplates instead of Fisher Body, I believe they were custom built by the Iowa Mfg Co----All doors are pracically rust free, definetly solid, as are the doorjams. Underside is in amazing shape considering it's age, no rust issues, frame is excellent, all floorboards rock solid. Even the tailgate hinge area is rust free, and the spare tire well also (see pics!) Exterier body does have 1 dent, drivers fender, and drivers rear quarter is rusty, passenger side quarter might have a little bondo, but that's the only evidence of bodywork I can find, no dents other that the dr. fender. Tailgate has some rust right in the middle, but 99.9% solid, and very repairable. Starts right up, idles, drives and stops, (starts by standing on the gas pedal..factory) but is not driven regularly or ready for the hwy. without some checking over at least. My `13yr old son started, backed it out of the shop, and drove it around the parking lot just today. Rocker panels have some rust starting, will need some work, but very solid and repairable easily. No other rust other than what I've outlined, all window openings, door openings, and inner fenders/radiator supports, etc rust free. Chrome and stainless in great shape, some dings, but all there and shiny, chrome bumpers both good, no big dents or peeling, hood perfect, engine bay solid with 0 rust issues, engine still has the original paint, and has even not been washed, maybe could use plugs/wires/tune-up, but does not smoke, no leaks or odd noises, really sounds nice. Trans works well, but does seem a little sluggish shifting if unless it's used everyday, prob needs a fluid/filter after 50 years..signals do not work (no lever) and I believe the fuel guage does not work either.---Clear WI title (North Dakota car most of it's life, prob. why it's not rusted out, no salt..) Will need some work no doubt, but where are you going to find a straighter one???Perfect easy restoration, or rat rod project....Take a look, ask me any questions, THANKS
