Vehicle Detail

Up for sale is my 1970 Camaro Z28, I originally purchased this vehicle in Northern California in 1998 and it has seen little use since it was driven to New York. The car was purchased with approximately 92000 miles, so in the last 13 years this car has been driven only about 6000 miles. The engine and transmission were replaced in the spring of 1999. The milage of the car when the new engine was installed was 96970 Currently the car has a non-matching 1970 block and heads. The motor was bored 0.030 and a 400 crank was used to create a 383 stroker motor. A TCI street fighter turbo 400 automatic transmission was installed with the rebuilt motor, the driveshaft was re-balanced and new U-joints were installed. In the summer of 2003 the front end was rebuilt with new front springs, polyurethane control arm bushings, ball joints, and tie rod ends, and end links. I have reciepts for everything, and I can provide part numbers for anything I have replaced from these receipts. This is an original Z28, the car has the floor mounted gas pedal, correct guage cluster, correct sway bars front and rear, 12-bolt rear end. The protecto-plate is in tact, the car was manufactured in California. The previous owner found the original build sheet, which is only about 50% present (see pictures) but the last six digits of the VIN are clearly visible along with several of the options including the Z28 package and deluxe interior. Condition: This is not a show car by any standards but this is a good solid 1970 Z28. The body and paint are typical of an older re-painted car, I would rate the paint a 6.5 - 7/10. The hood does not match the car perfectly, it is a lift off hood. The fit/finish is not perfect and honestly the lift off hood is a bit of an inconvenience. The upper part of the hood interferes with the windshield wipers and needs to be trimmed. The interior of the car is complete but a bit rough, the pictures give a pretty accurate representation of the condition of the interior. The seats are dry and tearing and will need to be re-upholstered. There is some rust on the front corners of the dashboard, see pictures. The heater core has a small leak and has been bypassed. There is a tiny (a few drips in the last four years) transmission fluid leak, it appears to be where the cooling lines enter the transmission and is likely an easy fix. The driver side window crank seems to be disengaged from the mechanism in the door. The compression of the engine is 10.73:1 and has been relatively picky about the octane of the fuel that you put into it. This car has been parked for about four years, I have occasionally started the engine. I would imagine that it will need a tune-up and a thorough once-over. I am doing everything that I can to accurately represent the condition of this vehicle and will gladly answer any questions. I would welcome anyone serious about purchasing this car to see the car in person. Because of the nature of this item it is sold as-is where-is with no warranties. I will gladly work with a buyer on shipping this car, buyer pays actual shipping charges. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early if the car sells locally. The reserve is set low and I am open to reasonable offers.
