Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Up for auction is a white 1993 MR2 Turbo in very nice condition. This beauty, that resembles the Ferrari 348 and the Ferrari F355 and it referred to as a "poor man's Ferrari," is now becoming rare and the 93 model is rarer than the original MKII 1991 model. The MR2s along with Toyota’s Mk III Supra have to be one of the best production racing-type sports cars ever made. If sold for parts this MR2 would bring in over 10K but I hope this does not happen since it is too great an automobile with a whole lot of drives and miles left. It drives like a ground rocket when the turbo kicks in to enter the interstate and extra fun to pass up all those who selfishly would not let you in at the entrance ramp. This car has been in no major accidents but did sustain a very minor fender bender (left front quarter panel depression with picture shown). This MR2 has been well maintained and has been changed over to synthetic lubricants and Amsoil several years ago. I have kept this MR2 in the garage as long as I have owned it. Whitey here has many upgrades including T-Bar Roof, upgraded turbo, upgraded intercooler, a multi-band radio with two players, upgraded exhaust system, multi-colored light turbo gauge, two-gauged pod column, stage I racing clutch and many others. The front tires are fairly new and the rear tires are fairly older. I have three Tom Scopes (two driver’s side for the air breather and one passenger side for the intercooler) that are currently not fastened. I was planning to fasten them down but ran out of time and cannot find the time to devote to this so I will leave this for the auction winner. I would love to keep this vehicle but my many years on this earth has caused me to focus on other things now. Please email me about any questions. I am sure this vehicle has at least another 17 more faithful years if properly maintained and cared for. Features: · JDM 3rd generation engine (Japanese 3S-GTE rated at 245 PS [180 kW; 242 hp]) · T-Bar Roof · Upgraded turbo CT-20B · Viscous LSD · Dual-chambered blow off valve · Shorter shift lever and smaller gear knob · After market exhaust system · Upgraded Intercooler · Leather Seats · 2 Pod Gauge Column with fuel mixture and extra heat gauge · Sony Radio/ CD and MP Player with Remote · Stage I racing clutch · Optima Battery within a year old Major Issues To my knowledge, there are no major issues with this vehicle other than the mileage on the current Cluster Gauge (I foolishly changed out) is not correct and the State of Connecticut lists the title within its jurisdiction as a so-called “junk or salvaged title” due car being stolen back in the early 90s and the insurance lobby has dictated a junk title for this car in the State of Connecticut. I have a clean title to this car from the Commonwealth of Virginia and I purchased this car with a clean title from the owner who had it registered in PA but was attending school in Florida and it was Florida where I purchased this car. As mentioned, the state of Connecticut reports this car under its rules under a “junk” title which by the way I understand means this car was stolen and the insurance company settled a claim with the owner and somehow the insurance companies lobbied to get settled claim listed under a junk title to protect itself from buy-back scams and thus in the state of Connecticut lists this vehicle under a junk title. The actual mileage should be in the 90s and I can vouch to my deepest statement the mileage is less than 110k without a doubt. The debacle to change out the cluster gauge was due to the fuel gauge that stopped functioning and I got tired of guessing how much fuel was in the tank (the replacement cluster currently registers 182,644). I purchased the car with a certified 58k miles on the car, and between my son and I, we have not traveled over 40k miles. Also, the JDM 3rd generation engine should have less than a total of 60k miles on it. Minor Issues There are a few minor to minute issues that I will list below: · Passenger window must be raised prior to closing the door to avoid any rain drainage. · The switch on the front running lights needs to be replaced which is a simple fix if I can get the time to do it. · Passenger side dent/depression (see picture) · Some paint-chipped spots that are usual for used vehicles · Items on tap for Repair (that I would love to get to but may not in time for purchase): · I am planning on changing out the transmission fluid with Redline MT-90. · The power steering has stopped working for moments but come right back on a couple of times in the past 3 years. I have not got this checked out. · The rear tires could use replacing in the next 10k miles · The telescoping antennae motor needs replacing (I decided not to get a new motor) · The paint and interior are in generally good condition for age · My son and I did invest quite a bit of resources into this vehicle. Please email for any questions and it may take up to 48 hours to reply so please be patient. I have attempted to disclose its condition to the best of my knowledge and will encourage inspection before or after the auction. I will require a refundable $200 down payment after the auction.
