Vehicle Detail

I've had this bike since 2006, It was a track day bike I converted for racing, then raced for 3 years. In the last 3 years it has been my street bike, primarily as a commuter. The bike has the following: 1) GSXR600/750 front end 2001-2002, including calipers and wheel/rotors, CBR600RR master cylinder 2) Sharskinz bodywork and Puig windscreen. Race tail is included, but not mounted (I use the passenger seat). The windscreen is not a proper fit and should be replaced, though it has worked for several years now. 3) Yoshimura RS-3 titanium exhaust canister with Yoshimura header pipe 4) Woodcraft rearsets, hi-mount, racing 5) Woodcraft clip-ons 6) brand new RK chain/ Sunstar spockets, 525, stock gearing (I told you, I commute on it) with about 1,000 miles. 7) New rear tire with less than 1500 miles (Continental sport touring stuff) 8) New front brake pads. 9) K&N filter. 10) Wave rear brake rotor. 11) Though the bike is not currently wired up, all required fasteners have been drilled for safety wire. The engine is a replacement and is stock internally. I have the race engine from it, but no, it's not for sale. The donor bike is of unknown miles. the owner of the donor bike said about 6,00 original miles. The OEM fitment tires were still on the bike, so he may have been telling the truth. Either way, the engine is in fine shape and has not been raced. Included with the bike are most of the spares such as footpegs, clip-on tubes, sprockets (520 sprockets or different sizes) and a Penske race shock with Eibach spring that needs rebuilt (oil seal is blown) The bike has very high miles but only suffers the following problems: 1) The battery has a slight current draw when the key is off. I leave it on a battery tender or just drive it every day. 2) The right brake rotor is ever-so-slightly warped. I got a used replacement for it, but it's just never bothered me enough to swap it out. 3) The crankcase breather spits oil. It's routed out the back of the bike, which eventually mists the fender well and license plate. It could be returned to stock (routed into the airbox) if the new owner wants to do it. For racing, I routed it into a catch can, as was required by the rules. 4) Engine clatter FIXED=== The persistent engine noise I noted the first time I listed this was traced to a weak cam chain tensioner, which was replaced. The engine has even compression in both cylinders, both spark plugs are even in color, and the engine burns no oil. Other than that just expect the bike to be dirty and scratched up as one would expect a bike that's seen this much use for this many years. I deliberately did not clean it for the photos. The paint is faded, the rims are scratched from having so many tire swaps, etc. It's an old race bike, not a show bike. I drive it daily and will continue to do so until sold. It is for sale locally and so I will end this listing early if it sells. Email with questions before making an offer or buying. If zero feedback, email before making an offer or buying. Do not throw in some low-ball bid out of curiosity, as you may end up being on the hook for buying. I have little interest in shipping, so local pick-up is highly desirable. I am selling as is, where is. Local inspection is highly encouraged. I am available to show the bike and answer questions. I'm not interested in trades or whacky ideas, just a no-nonsense transaction. I can deliver, but my van gets 13mpg, so it can add up. I only charge the cost of gas (both ways) and will go 200mi from Victorville, CA (92392) max, and will not deliver until payment is received in full. The bike is still currently my daily driver. I am only selling because my back disagrees with me as to what the proper commuter bike is. I have to go with what my back is saying though, because it wont shut up. I had every plan to keep this bike forever; it has turned out to be the most fun I've ever had, and I've owned many "big bikes" but none that were so easy to maintain, so easy to ride, and so easy to modify. This bike is capable of anything; I hope it goes to an owner that can appreciate it. On Aug-15-11 at 21:24:54 PDT, seller added the following information:It just dawned on me that the replacement engine was never used for racing, so it was never drilled for safety wire. Buyers wishing to race this bike will need to drill the oil drain and fill bolts/cap and possibly the hose clamps on the coolant lines. Also, the stock clutch cover is plastic and many organizations require it to be replaced with a metal one. It's really just a good idea to do it anyway if you are going to be on the track with it, it's good insurance.
