I have for sale a 1962 Volkswagen Ragtop Sunroof Beetle. This is a very rare find. It has belonged to the same family since new, and the last owner in the family since 1985. It was just pulled out of the owners garage where it has been sitting for the last 11 years. It only has 85,000 original miles on it. It comes with the original keys and owners manual, and a folder of receipts dating back many years ago. The car ran and drove well when parked 11 years ago. The last owner says that it is a very good car. We just bought it and had it trailered home yesterday. Just a quick wash job, and put in the garage. We have not tried to start the vehicle, but last owner says that it will start with just a minimal amount of tinkering. We are offering it for sale to someone looking for a great restoration project before starting the restoration ourself. This car is 100% complete with good electrical system, even working original a/m radio. The engine turns freely by hand. The sunroof operates as it should. It is very solid with the doors and trunk opening and closing like new. It has minimal rust, since it has been kept inside all of it's life, which is very hard to find on a 50 year old VW. It looks good enough now, to get running, and drive until starting the restoration. The paint that is on it still has a nice gloss. The interior is all original, and will probably clean up good enough to drive around if you are not ready to restore it yet. I am offering it for sale before I start on it, because I have other projects that I am working on, and don't have time for all of them. This one was just too cute to pass up when offered to me. I also have a 1961 VW Beetle convertible that is completely taken apart to be restored, with a brand new original rebuilt engine sitting at the VW repair shop where it was rebuilt, and never re-installed, that I would consider selling, also. This is a legal and binding contract, and buyer will be expected to follow through with the purchase. I will need a $500.00 deposit within 48 hours of auction end, and the remainder of the payment within one week of auction end. The car and title will only be released once funds have cleared.
