Offered for sale is a truly stunning 1956 Jaguar XK140 Fixed Head Coupe. Timelessly elegant, the car's graceful yet aggressive lines immediately capture everyone's attention, always evoking grins, thumbs ups and requests for pictures from passers by. It's easily one of the most tastefully exclusive cars I've ever driven. The car was purchased by its second owner in 1966 and since that time it has been lovingly cared for, driven, maintained and garaged among the owner's stable of vintage British cars. The original car to his collection, it was carefully restored to the highest level in the early 1990s and still presents as a nearly show quality example. The opalescent charcoal over red leather is arguably the finest color combination we've ever seen an XK in and its finished off with red brakes visible through its gorgeous knock off wire wheels. The car's paint is in excellent condition, deep, lustrous and marred only by the most insignificant of imperfections, none of which appear in any of the pictures and in no way detract from the car's overall appeal. The glass and brightwork are excellent, as is the rubber and polished wire wheels. The interior is equally as flawless, showing only minimal wear to both the leather seats and carpet. All of the interior panels, dash and headliner are impeccable, and the polished wood dash and accents are flawless. The car runs beautifully, starting easily and without any smoke, shifting smoothly through all of the gears and pulling strongly. It's a rust-free and numbers matching car, a true joy to drive, whether winding through the canyons, tooling around town or bombing down the highway. For U.S. buyers a 10% non-refundable deposit is required within 3 days of the auction's end, the balance to be paid within 7 days of the auction's end.
