Vehicle Detail

Offered for sale is my 1968 mgc. After owning several MGB's I finally found the MGC everyone had told me about. This car had undergone a complete exterior restoration by a very reputable restoration shop in western Massachusetts. The owner had the exterior done over the winter months and took the car home to drive and enjoy planning on returning the car to the shop for a full interior and mechanical restoration the following winter. Sadly to say the interior never happened and I bought the car after the family sold it to their neighbor. I brought the car to sunny so. Florida in 2005. My son and I enjoyed the car for two years and actually won best of show in the local car show circuit. The car was put in storage in 07 due to a broken header pipe in the exhaust and also the carbs needed to be rebuilt. I never did get the carbs rebuilt but I did purchase a complete stainless steel exhaust system and a second used set of carbs and manifolds just in case we needed them. I also purchased a set of 4 Dayton chrome spoke wheels and tires. All of these parts will be offered to the high bidder at the close of auction. They are not included in this sale . Sadly the high Florida humidity has started to show on the body. There are several areas that are bubbling and both front fenders have some rust thru. The rear quarters look fine and the rockers are solid. Surprisingly the trunk is flawless and shinny. Obviously the engine does not run without the carbs and exhaust system but the engine does turn over fine and shows good oil pressure when cranked. The clutch worked fine when parked but the pedal is very hard after being stored. We had just finnished a complete brake job when the car was stored so they should be fine or require little work. The car will require a complete interior kit but they are easily found online. The car is 99.9% original. The only parts I can see that are not original mgc equipment are the two power brake boosters that have been changed. A very common thing with mgc's. It is equiped with an original 4 sp electric overdrive which makes this car purr at 75 mph on the Turnpike. We drove the car several times from Vero Beach to the MT Dora car show approx 90 miles with no problems on the Turnpike. Note that any parts removed from the car and not shown in the pictures were removed for rust inspection and are with the car and included in this sale. I plan to begin mechanical work this weekend but I wanted to get the car listed for sale to see if there was any interest before I get the car running and the price goes up.......or I change my mind...... car show season starts next month!!!! Email or call for more info or pictures. thanks for looking scott 772-532-6024 On Aug-14-11 at 12:22:29 PDT, seller added the following information: hi had great success fixing the cluch hydraulics.. Removed and cleaned both master and slave cylinders and now it works perfectly. Unfortunately my parts supplyer did not come thru with the intake/exhaust gasket so I am unable to install the manifolds and carbs . Maybe tomorrow.
