1965 Mercedes-Benz 230SL Convertible Two owners in last 20+ years. Good running condition, ready to drive. Highly original. Up for sale is my 1965 Mercedes 230SL convertible. This car is highly original -- unrestored -- in good condition and ready to drive. This is a fourth car for our family, and simply does not get enough use to justify keeping it, so it's time for another owner to enjoy this fine machine. The pictures tell most of the story. This all-original car has Mercedes famously smooth and strong-running inline six cylinder engine, original to the car. It is white with a blue interior in good condition. The car comes with both the hardtop and the folding soft-top. The soft top is in good condition, with a minor repairable pinhole in one side. Hardtop is in very good condition. The engine runs well and the transmission shifts correctly; this car is not going to leave you stranded. I will disclose that the odometer is intermittently functional, so mileage is somewhat understated. The car rarely sees more than a thousand or two miles a year in the decade-plus that I have owned it, so mileage is nothing to be afraid of here. This vehicle is a great choice for a ready-to-drive fun, or a great candidate for concours restoration. Extensive service records are available. I have maintained this car well, and have documentation that the prior owner did also. You can see that the listing is straightforward and honest; I expect bidders and the final buyer to be the same. We are hoping for a quick and fair sale to an owner that will enjoy her as much as I have. Car is located in Tyler, Texas, 100 miles east of Dallas. Buyer is to pay all shipping or transportation costs. Clear title is in hand, and will be signed over with complete payment. The car is in very good condition, but it is 45+ years old -- therefore it is sold strictly as-is, where-is. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of the end of this auction. The remainder is due by cash or wire transfer within five business days.
