Offered for sale is our gorgeous and original 1957 Mercedes-Benz 190SL California Roadster finished in its timeless factory Silbergrau Metallic over Navy Leather with its correct Navy soft top. This is another fine example of a very original California Mercedes convertible that has been properly cared for throughout its long ownership. The paint is nearly perfect, deep and lustrous from every angle. The body is straight down every side and every panel and each panel on the body fits correctly. The chrome is great, as is the glass. The soft top is excellent. The navy leather seats are in good condition, showing no tears or excessive fading and the carpets are in good original condition as well. The photographs were taken prior to a clock being reinstalled in the glove box door. The mechanicals on the car are excellent as well. As you can tell from the engine bay photo, the car is mechanically original with a numbers matching engine, correct solex carbs, etc. The carburetors were recently removed and rebuilt for ideal original performance. The transmission pulls smoothly through all gears, there is no smoke on startup or idle and the compression is excellent. This is a wonderful California driver. With the market for good 190SL's increasing at such a rapid rate, you couldn't possibly be making the wrong decision in considering this 190 as the perfect addition to any collection. For U.S. buyers a 10% non-refundable deposit is required within 3 days of the auction's end, the balance to be paid within 7 days of the auction's end. Foreign buyers must pay in full within 7 business days of auction’s end. Buyer is responsible for shipping, however I'd be more than happy to help with recommendations and arrangements.
