Vehicle Detail
I am the personal owner of this car and have been for a year now. I now work for a dealer here in Cleveland and drive a demo so its time for someone else to enjoy my baby. This is a rare car as when we searched the sites in the country a few weeks back there were only 26 for sale. There is one door ding, will try to get it out, a scrap (see pic) and scrap on lower front bumper. I will NOT give this car away and may end up selling it to the dealer I work at so I do reserve the right to end the auction at anytime. Also car just within 3 mos had front brakes (pads and rotors) done. I also have back pads but not put on yet (did not need them yet but for and extra $200 I will get new rotors and have my work put them all on)! Outside of the scratches I tried to describe, I know nothing that it needs.I also must add that 10 mos ago I replaced the exhaust from the converter back including the converter!! INFO FROM MOTOR TREND:Pop the hood of the new Bonneville GXP, and you'll see two important badges. The first denotes that before you lies the handiwork of the General Motors Performance Division (GMPD). The second proclaims "Northstar," as in the same 4.6-liter, DOHC aluminum V-8 that powers several Cadillacs. Detuned to a rated 275 horsepower for this Pontiac-branded application, it's a Caddy motor, plain and simple. The new GXP label will now signify hotted-up Pontiacs, much as AMG does forMercedes-Benz. Click to view GalleryAlong with the engine swap come new fascias and lower bodywork, replacing the usual ribbed, overstated plastic. The more mature look is further enhanced by beefy, 18-inch five-spoke alloys. The suspension has been recalibrated for better handling, including DeCarbon gas shocks and even a strut tower brace, although the ride remains comfortably compliant. Braking is augmented by large four-wheel discs, vented up front. Inside, faux carbon fiber and a few bits of metalook plastic help modernize the overly busy cabin. In spite of its aging platform, numbish Magnasteer, yestertech four-speed automatic transaxle, and plebian front-drive, the GXP is good fun to drive. It'll move five passengers in fast comfort all day long. The engine burbles happily through its quad-tipped exhaust, and the aggressive 3.7:1 final-drive ratio helps the Northstar launch the car with authority. A bargain-priced E55? Hardly, but an honest attempt by Pontiac to make good on its "we build excitement" claims.
