Up for sale is my 1974 VW Super Beetle, it has the dual port 1600cc engine and a manual transmission. I bought it a couple of years ago and have been slowly restoring it, I have many new rebuilt parts for the car that I am including, including front spindles, rebuilt gear box that is tight, Idler arm, and steering shaft, I was going to do a complete overhaul on the car, the car runs and idles great, there is only 1000 miles on the new carburetor, and it was tuned professionally. I have kept up with the oil changes and valve adjustments, this is my daily driver, so it can be driven anywhere. The car doesn't smoke, and there are no oil leaks. When sold, I need it gone or paid in full by the 4th of August; I will be out of town for a couple of weeks. It can sit here longer if you plan on having this shipped, or I can help “150 mile radius” for $1.00 a mile, just ask. Being sold as is with clear title. I have nothing to hide on this car, so please ask if you have questions or need more photos. The bad: The hood is rusted, as seen in the pictures. Windshield has a crack in it. Headliner has a rip. Reverse works but it bumps out, all other gears work great. There is rust in the front fender wells. One rust spot on the passenger’s floor pan, about 3 inches in diameter. Surface rust on the rear quarters. Missing passengers trim on the outside Update: Most states don't require emissions, I took it in 07/23/11 and it did pass emissions. I have replaced the accelerator cable, new battery, new starter, starter relay, wiring to starter, heater cables, oil screen, rear shocks, got rid of the points and added an electronic ignition, oil filler "The old one leaked". The car comes with a lot of extra parts too, gaskets, boots, windshield reservoir, the old starter, the old carburetor. I do have a video of the engine starting with a cold start; also you are welcome to inspect the car prior to 12 hours of the auction ending, I would be happy to supply more pictures if you specify what you want.
