Terry is one of the leading Valkyrie blower experts in the country and has performed numerous Valkyrie supercharger installs (not to mention fixing other peoples' messed up installs). I've never had it on a dyno myself, but traditionally this setup makes about 140 horsepower at the wheel (approximately 50% more horsepower than stock). And given the bike's ability to pull its front wheel off the ground all the way up into third gear, I can believe it. Note that this kit has been recently upgraded (2009) with the latest carb / intake setup from Magnacharger and does not require a fuel pump like the older kits did. Driveability is excellent. Apart from all the extra power, the only performance difference between this bike and a stock Valk is that it has a rather drastic up-and-down surge at idle when it's cold. But that goes away after a couple of minutes of running, after which it idles smoothly at 900 RPMs. This newer carb has a very quick slide, delivering power much faster than the older setup, so this thing really gets up and goes. I can easily hang in there with the sport bike kids (at least for a while). As for the poor Harley dudes, hell, all they ever get to see is my license plate. And the top end? Wow, who knows? I've had it up to 145, but I ran out of nerve before I ran out of throttle. Speaking of top end, if you're really going to go for it, you need to first adjust the timing curve and the boost retard setting on the ICM. I normally use a peppier timing curve for "every day" driving. But for extended trips into WOT country, it's best to use the tamest timing curve and the maximum retard setting (otherwise you're going to be detonating). The ICM has a couple of knobs on it for setting retard and RPM limit, as well as for selecting a timing curve. Regardless of what kind of driving you're doing (or how you have the ICM set), you always want to be burning premium gas. The Viking exhaust is louder than stock, but not obnoxiously so (IE, it does have baffles). Basically a nice beefy rumble, but not loud enough to wake the neighbors. Gas mileage is surprisingly decent for a performance bike (right around 30 MPG on the freeway). The only "special" maintenance item with this bike (as compared to a normal Valkyrie) is that the bearings inside the blower idler pulley need to be replaced every 4-5 years. This is a common part that can be picked up at any auto parts store and installed in a few minutes. Replacing the pulley belt at the same time is also a good idea (these two items were last replaced in 2009). This is a very reliable bike that has been well cared for. Apart from regular maintenance, I've never had any mechanical issues to deal with. Always stored indoors and rarely driven in the rain. Yes, after 10 years and 39K miles on the road there are the inevitable nicks and scratches. But overall it looks nice and runs great. I just put on new Avon Cobra tires last spring (2010). I also had the clutch and brake fluid flushed and the brake shoes replaced (approximately 3K miles on all that). Oil and filter have been changed every 3K miles since new (just changed last week). Radiator fluid gets replaced every couple of years. As pictured, I normally leave it set up for solo cruising. However, I do have the stock passenger seat and backrest (takes a couple of minutes to put on or take off). I also have a couple of shop manuals and a Sears Craftsman motorcycle lift with a Spoonland Valkyrie lift adaptor that I'll toss in for free. This has been a great bike, but my interests have shifted (fast cars instead of fast cycles), so it's time to sell. Please note that the modifications that have been made to the engine are a one-way trip - IE, it is extremely unlikely that it could be converted back to stock. And although I do have a big box full of leftover stock parts, all the really big stuff is long gone (carbs, exhaust, shocks, etc). The bike is located in Richfield, MN (a suburb of Minneapolis). Feel free to contact me to set up an inspection. And if you have any questions at all, do please ask them before bidding. I don't want to have to relist this thing again.
