Vehicle Detail

1974 Ford Super Van E-100 with only 23,968 original miles. This van was owned by a fire department in South Carolina and was an auxillary rescue unit. It was extremely pampered by the fire department and maintence was done regularly whether the van was driven or not. It was repainted in the mid 1980's and the paint is in pretty nice shape with a few blemishes here and there but not very noticeable. It has no rust and the body is in excellent condition. The van has a 302 V-8 that looks and runs like new with a automatic transmission that is very tight and strong. It has brand new mufflers and pipes from the engine on back, dual exhaust and has a mellow V-8 rumble. Also has new tires and wheels(18' X8" grey center boss 338 wheels and Kumho 235/50/18" tires), new sway bars and shocks, new old stock drink holder, original radio with speaker not installed ( it came from the factory radio delete but I bought a working one on ebay but never installed it), also have a back benchseat and extra front seat from salvage yard that goes with it. I bought a brand new oem carpet kit from C & G early fords in California but have not installed that but it goes with the van. The air conditioner was completely redone with new compressor, drier, expansion valve, condensor (cost $1438) but blows ice cold. The interior is all original and looks and smells new. It has a rare folding passenger jump seat , tinted windows(5% limo tinting on rear windows and 35% tint on front windows and old school pinstriping. The van drives awesome and is very peppy has a very smooth and comfortable ride. It has 3.25 axle gearing and cruises down the highway at 75mph with ease. At that speed you can let go the wheel and it tracks straight with no steering wheel vibration and the sway bars allow it to corner like it is on rails. Since I installed the sway bars I noticed a rubber squeeky noise when I go over speed bumps but I think that is because the rubber bushings for the sway bars are brand new and will need to be broken in over time. This van is a real head turner and I have been stopped several times with guys drooling over it and how clean and sharp it looks. It won a Good Guys Editor Choice award at the Nashville Nationals in June 2009. The van is a real time capsule and the last year of this 2nd generation Ford Econoline classic body style. This is a rare opportunity to get a very cool, original, low mileage 1974 Ford Van that is as close to a new 1974 van as possible. You can fly in and drive it home, you can drive this van across the country if you need to. I took two long trips in it and it is very comfortablefor travelling. Since the van was purchase from South Carolina in 2008 there has been over $6000 spent on improvements (tires/wheels, air conditioner, carpet kit, shocks, sway bars, window tint, pinstriping, dual exhaust and mufflers, factory radio, and extra seats).
