1977 Mercedes-Benz 450SL Convertible w/Hardtop. *** NO RESERVE *** This car does not run and is being sold for parts. *** NO RESERVE *** New photos of interior have been added. This car is Mercedes-Benz yellow with a matching hardtop. The interior is light brown vinyl. Wheels/rims are original Mercedes-Benz chrome (chrome is flaking). This car has the european front end headlights. I installed an after-market CD player with auxiliary input. Engine is a Mercedes-Benz V-8 (complete) attached to an automatic transmission and rear wheel drive. The hardtop is removable and the car has a cloth convertible top under the tonneau cover, but it was never raised when I had it, and I do not know the condition or if it would be useable (I always removed the hardtop, with another person, for driving). I am selling it because I do not have the know-how, time or patience to get it running, so it is being sold AS-IS as a "parts car". The car was running - up to a few years ago - but quit and has been sitting dormant for over three years. The car will not start, and MUST be towed / transported on a carrier by the winning bidder. It is being sold as a parts car, as there is no guarantee that it will run. As far as I know, the car is only missing the driver's side mirror glazing (metal mirror is intact). The parts for the center console (heater, temperature will be with the car). No engine parts have been removed so - to the best of my knowledge - all parts for a complete car are on the car (but I do not guarantee that all the parts are there) so it is being sold AS-IS as a "parts car". This was purchased by me to be a project car, and was running when I had it. I would drive it to the beach or errands. The Air-Conditioner did not work even when the car ran. When it ran, the car had nice pick-up and was fun to drive. However ... it quit one day and has sat since. I do not have the knowledge to make mechanical repairs and have not had the time to have it worked on otherwise. Therefore, I cannot guarantee (or expect) that the car will start again, so it is being sold AS-IS as a "parts car". The car has surface rust, some flaking paint, small chips and scratches. I do not believe that the paint is original, and I do not know if body panels have been replaced or repaired - before I purchased the car - or if there is fiberglass or bondo on the body panels now. The interior dashboard has cracks and the visor hinges have broken. When running, the electric windows opened and closed, and the doors and trunk locked. The windshield is intact, but has three chips in the glass. The vehicle is being sold AS-IS with no guarantee or warranty. The car has a clear Florida title showing "actual" miles. The odometer says: 079,111 ... however, It is difficult for me to believe that the mileage, on a car of this age, is that low. The title says "actual" miles. I believe that the odometer worked, when I drove it. I have not changed the speedometer, since purchasing it. Keep in mind that your bids should be based on the car as an AS-IS "parts car". There are keys for the doors/trunk/ignition. Please keep in mind that this car is 34 years old and exhibits the aging and wear and tear on a vehicle of that age. The car has scratches, chips, flaking paint, rust, wear, tear, leaking and possibly loose parts. The vehicle is being sold AS-IS as a "parts car". Three of the tires hold air, but they are weathered ... the rear passenger tire is flat only because there is a crack in the valve stem. It can be pumped up, but quickly loses air. Highest bidder is the winning bidder. Once payment clears, the winning bidder is the new owner. Winning bidder will need to make arrangements to have vehicle towed. The car is on my driveway, at a private residence, and that is where the vehicle would need to picked up by the winning bidder, representative or transport company. Terms of Sale This vehicle is being sold 'as is, where is', and there are no warranties expressed or implied herein. Any bid on this vehicle will be considered a binding acceptance of the terms of sale, specifically including a non-refundable deposit of $250 due with in 48 hours of sale via PayPal, and the remaining balance due with in 7 days of end of Auction. Wire transfer, mail a personal check and wait 7-10 days (after my receiving it) before pickup, or bring a certified bank check or cash only at time of pick up.
